Staff Redundancies at SAFC

Well done mr short just more misery hoyed on hard working supporter/workers, the quicker this bloke sells up the better. Surely these cost cutting measures starting with pretty much killing the woman's team now hard working low paid staff means the Texan is gearing up to sell. That's what I hope anyway the one glimmer of hope.
The same women's team where the players couldn't commit to professional contracts? Aye alreet.

And how d'ya kna that like? It could be very well paid people for all yay kna. Perhaps some of those that were involved in the events department.

Bain is doing his job, I'm sure he'd love to be handing out pay rises instead of P45's. Shit situation though, many of us will have worked for failing businesses in the past, I hope all affected find new jobs (if it comes to that).

Make an even bigger difference if we can shift some sh*te players who are on 30k a week, amounting to £2.4m a year before tax per player.

30k is normally quoted as after tax.
We will be shifting players on more than £30k a week soon by the look of it.

As said above, I doubt anyone's been laid off today. More a notice period incase we are relegated. But this story should be up in the dressing room.

Even if there's no job there for them? Don't be ridiculous.

It wasn't a PR exercise. It was something the manager wanted to do with the players.

People look at it the wrong way. The players weren't being rewarded with a trip to New York. These are very well paid young men who can enjoy a trip to New York whenever they want. This was a team building exercise where they were running about Central Park in the freezing cold. It wasn't a friggin' holiday.
Were the sightseeing trips and the visits to sporting events classed as team building or rewards.

Whilst I feel for people who have lost their job, I think this needs to be looked at a little more objectively. As a business we hemoridge cash and our operational running has been incompetent. The organisation I work for went through a similar process last summer as the number of people who were in job roles that didn't need to be was staggering. This isn't unique to SAFC and is pretty much part and parcel of running a business.

NYC was and still is a bizarre choice IMO.

I think it was stated that NY was a good choice of destination because it's not a big football city and they won't really be known when they're out and about. Either way I don't know why it matters, if it was just a lads holiday they would have been better going to Portugal or somewhere warm wouldn't they?

It was a team building exercise, let's hope it's worked and we see some benefit from it.

Shite news but not unexpected. Unfortunately it's the ones at the bottom of the tree that take the fall whilst the players saunter around in their top cars and want for nowt. Football is a f***ing awful business to be in, if I had money I certainly wouldn't put it into a football club, at any level.

not necessarily. The catering staff , cleaners etc will still need to be there and they will be the low paid earners. If anything it will probably be the number of playing staff that is cut back at first team, reserve and youth team level . We have seen that the ladies team is going back to part time so that s the first indication. Probably also those other invisible type jobs that add no real value

Team building.

I wasn't even aware they went to any sporting events. It makes the trip less "bizarre" than @prehab26 suggested though if they did. Let's have a look at how teams do it in other sports etc.

Sorry to see anyone lose their job and hope they get a new one easy enough - doubt they will have an easy ride as they have at this one, theres a lot of people there do absolutely fuck all, they have been living off the fruits of labour from gary the hairs concerts ect.

Gets them away from it all doesn't it - away from negativity of being bottom of the league. Try and instill a better mood in the camp.

I really don't see what the link is between this and the New York trip. Every single member of staff was also taken on a team building day last month.
 And there ends the debate.
