Southampton spying compendium thread

Agree even if boro had set the trap to catch them it’s good they did or they’d have gotten away with it. I do wonder if this is some people bias towards boro like. I mean I don’t really care either way about them now if this were the mags I do wonder if I’d be saying it’s harsh 🤣
Yeah maybe if it was the mags I’d have that bias. I’d be calling for auto promotion for Southampton due to their ingenuity ;)

And a league demotion for the mags for harassing a young lad

Some right puritans on here regarding the rules.

I think England fans broke the rules by invading the pitch during the World Cup final, wonder should that result be looked into 🤔

Anyway like I've said, as long as it's applied to the big clubs the same I've no problem.

I'll leave the echo chamber now :)
Pitch invasions were legitimate in 1966

Aye those fans with binoculars and ghilly suits etc, it was them taking the mickey as if it was soft behaviour by the smoggies. Karma is a beautiful thing.
Deserve everything they get. Right up until the appeal was rejected last night they were still screaming about it being unfair/out of proportion. It was not, it was exactly the correct judgement given what they had done. If anything they got off lightly imo. Relegation to L1 could have been an option and if more clubs complain or produce evidence could still happen over the summer.

A fair few still are screaming that. But I guess if you go through it some fans are always going to feel hard done by. Its a shit scenario, but only have their staff to blame

I agree one hundred percent, they might as well have been run by the Oystons/Venkys etc, as it's absolutely devastating for them as a club, the fact that they're already on para payments and complaining about the harsh financial impact of missing out on the final pretty much sums them up.

Theres loads of them still like that. Also complaining about the 4 points being over the top after expulsion, forgetting thats punishment for doing in to games during the season too

I honestly don't get how anyone can think it is harsh.

In any competition the the world if you are found to have cheated you will be disqualified. Getting kicked out of the play offs was always going to be the outcome. And they have obviously cheated throughout the season to get into the play offs so I don't see how they can complain about starting next season on a points deduction either.

Because theyre told that by the club and look for people who say the same things to back their stance. Now its apparently that all clubs do it so its not fair theyre punished (we dont have any evidence of this yet). That it's just a guy eith an iPhone, how can that ruin our chance at 200m etc etc (despite the camera on an iPhone being shown to be rather impressive from distance and the fact why do it if they would gain so little)

Its also pretty clear it wasn't just the ones named so far. That appears to have been a TIC gambit to try and earn credit from the panel abd reduce any potential penalties.

They've clearly been at it in every game they could since Eckert took over. Their unbeaten run was built on it.

He should be put in the stocks and pelted with rancid tomatoes.
I'd be utterly amazed if it stops at just him.

Those above him, maybe even right up to the owner I don't know how hands on he is, SHOULD have been asking what had brought about the enormous swing in performances especially given that it was basically the same playing squad.

I simply cannot believe Eckert was given complete free rein and no checks or balances were in place from those higher up the chain of command? That's utter nonsense especially when you consider it was his first senior role.

What if the directors where in on it?
Is the DOF not allegedly implicated as being aware?
FA getting involved could see more points been deducted and staff been suspended from football
Inevitably they will? The scandal and fall out has overshadowed most of the football this week including Arsenal's title win and Villa's European success.

If you cheat on an exam, even if you fail or not do as well as you'd hoped, that doesn't make it right.

Even if the fine was massive and the PL agreed to impose a points deduction at the EFL's request, it does nothing to redress the balance for M'bro.

They cheated ahead of a huge game, they admitted it, and are bang to rights. No mealy mouthed 'apology' is going to wash for me.

They got exactly what they deserved.
