Potential players being out injured that they would then not plan for, changes in formation if they decided to mix things up from previous games that season, penalty practice in case it went that far etc. There's a few things that could be a benefit, but not for what the potential issues it raised 🤣

There is a big difference between watching previous games and getting the inside knowledge on how the opponent is going to set up against you, who’s going to play, what formation will they have on your next match. That sort of information is I expect priceless in your own team tactics.

I do however agree that I think they would have beat boro anyway so was it a risk worth taking.

The fact that they did take it points to the fact that they have been using it for some time over the season.

You can't take opportunity income/costs into account. Beating Hull could not be guaranteed. That's a level of arrogance akin to Sheffield Utd this time last year.
 
🤣🤣🤣idiot. If not for cheating they may have not even qualified for the playoffs. An incredible brass neck, they may have even lost the final. What Leeds got fined is immaterial, it wasnt a law then so couldn't punish it as severely. They lack of awareness and understanding is astonishing. EFL could easily argue that first game should be forfeit due to cheating and they would be out of the competition amyway

Except none of that is true. The EFL arbitration process is covered by the 1996 Arbitration Act. Whilst the chances are slim it’s completely wrong to say that Southampton don’t have potential legal routes if they believe they have a case that the process followed wasn’t fair. As I’ve said particularly for the appeal they potentially have the timeline and lack of written summary (Being given the right to appeal after they have full reasoning for the original outcome) should they want to pursue it. None of us knows anything in the detail of if or not they would have a potential case for that except what is in the public domain.

Aye but come on, are you really gonna get that info spying on a training session from behind a tree?
 
The reality is that the entire coaching staff and players have to be in on it for the cheating/spying programme to be effective.

Insights on the opposition's starting set up shared with the coaching staff, who then pass it on to the players. Player would have to be thick not to know where those instructions are coming from, especially if the change started in early November with the new gaffer.
 
SaintsWeb have some posters who are quick to say what they did was wrong...but this did make me laugh from another

AFAIK, SFC agreed the process, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
