Southampton spying compendium thread

Twas ever thus. 1967, before our second FA Cup replay against Leeds, at Hull, Don Revie bribed the ref. Revie then told Jimmy Greenhoff to fall over in the box, which Greenhoff duly did. Leeds got a very dodgy pen and won the tie. (It's all in Martin Hardy's book about Stokoe and is documented elsewhere).

I kind of know what you mean though - some people's reaction to it now is maybe more condoning than then, but some of the attempted fixing has always gone on.
Francis Lee went down everytime a moth or butterfly went past him due to the breeze .Had more appeals in one match than most players in a season. Cheating at it's worst . 🤷‍♂️ :D

Would be funny if they kick Southampton out but Boro aren’t given the place in the final. They just promote Hull.
Yes indeed. Two competitive games were played and Boro lost. The games should not have gone ahead if it was deemed inappropriate. As competitive games were played, therefore Southampton expelled and Hull promoted. Boro should not get a free ticket for losing.

Theres no facts involved. Just your very humble opinion based on a fictional imternet world.
A bit sad reality isnt it.
But yeah your right Im so triggered.
Whilst getting paid at work to reply to you.
Love it. Keep the replies coming
It’s only a bit of internet carry on Barney lad dear me man 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

I think it’s mad that after 94 pages there are some posters that still don’t understand that there’s an EFL regulation which prohibits observing, or attempting to observe another clubs training session 72 hours prior to kickoff

Southampton had a lad there recording the training session. We know he works for Southampton because he’s pictured among Tonda Eckert’s staff. The info they might or might not have gotten from it is completely irrelevant to the argument

Fuck me. What part of this is difficult to understand?
Pics first mate, before i commit.

There isn’t a chance they’re going to boot out Southampton and promote hull without playing a play off final. It’s like uefa sacking off the champions league final, just not going to happen at all. Hull will either play boro or they’ll play Southampton and if they do end up playing Southampton and Southampton win hull will be promoted anyway.

In fact now that I type the the EFL are probably better off letting hull play Southampton knowing hull are up regardless and they can punish Southampton after the event.

I think this has a chance. Swindon were never going to be promoted years back.

Wish I'd known cos worst game I've seen in my life.

First, EFL will be desperate to play their showpiece final. Massive attraction.
A certainty that Boro will sue for loss of revenue, both EFL and Southampton.

Manager crying in the press conference

They knew from the start they wouldn't get past Southampton and saw an opportunity.

Just promote Hull if need be
What I’d do also, fairest and correct outcome.
Like you do to Sunderland supporters
He’s an absolute knacker, spends more time on here than most Sunderland fans. Obnoxious self righteous ****

Someone on the Hull forum just suggested this, and I can certainly see it happening. The least faff but punishment (eventually) if found guilty.
