The simplest solution would have been to play the final (as happened with us against Swindon) then if Hull win
put the money in the bank from the play off final and then apply a fine and a points deduction to Southampton
If Saints win - kick them out, promote Hull and then give Saints a points deduction and big fine
But that's out the window now .... because the issue is in the public domain it would make the final pointless for the
Southampton players and their fans
Boro as I understand it are not asking to replace Southampton in the final - but they are still free to sue them for £m

Spying is cheating I get it but it’s hard to understand what advantage they got from a kid with an iPhone tbh.
Boro going on as if they had Russian spies in the training ground.
Mind you I’m sure if I’d totally thrown away automatic promotion in 3 months I’d be looking for anything to distract from the fact I only had myself to blame.

You can watch the opposition take penalties without cheating.

Leeds got a very dodgy pen and won the tie. (It's all in Martin Hardy's book about Stokoe and is documented elsewhere).
I kind of know what you mean though - some people's reaction to it now is maybe more condoning than then, but some of the attempted fixing has always gone on.

Given only one side can appeal I’d rather they throw southampton out who will be able to appeal rather than screwing over boro who have no grounds to appeal

they haven't specifically said they should replace them, but its clearly the inference from what they have said, which is that Southampton should have a sporting sanction that prevents them playing in the final.
