Southampton spying compendium thread

It was always going to be messed up. He's not taking into account how long it all takes legally. Its shit all round whatever happens.
Exactly this. The EFL HAVE to allow fair process or the courts will overturn what they do. This includes giving Southampton time to prepare and allowing for an appeal. Having said that, they’ll be concertinaing the time as much as possible. And i doubt it’s a case with tons of documentary evidence which always delays things - so that will help. It’s a really nasty one for the EFL because they also have to finish their season. I imagine there are World Cup call ups affecting the teams and they have to abide by that. Plus the work starts on next seasons fixture list almost as soon as the POs are over - delay those and there could be a knock on onto fixture release date for PL and EFL which screws everyone. I imagine they’re busting a gut to keep the game on the 24th and TBH that’s probably the best option if they possibly can. Tough on fans but as I’ve said before there won’t be a neat solution that suits everyone unless the Independent Commission kicks Soton out. That however is out of the EFL’s hands and currently they have to plan for all options.

Amazing isn’t it Southampton cheat the rules, Gibson chucks his toys out the pram again like he did with derby and it’s the fans of Hull that could suffer the most
Chucks his toys?
If he feels we've been cheated on (there are rules against spying) then he has every right to 'chuck his toys'.
If there's any chance that Southampton get chucked out then I'm pretty sure Hull will be preparing for whoever they play against.
It takes time to sort things like this out , so while it's a slight inconvenience to clubs and fans alike, surely that's better than just ignoring it all, giving any club licence to cheat in future.

So, would you be against your owner 'chucking his toys' if this had happened to Sunderland last year?

I know it’s a rule but I honestly don’t see it as a big thing.

Seem to be in the minority on here but there are worse forms of cheating and skullduggery as far as I’m concerned.
Boro had to go back to drawing board after they’d been spied on, cos that Soto runt had sent the coaching team the vid of Boro tactics. In turn, Boro had to change the shape, set plays and so obviously could not play their number one preferred way cos Soto were then privy to it.

End of day, Boro were hampered going into first leg. Otherwise they may very well have won first leg. That would have changed everything going into second leg. They’ve brought it all on theirselves - can’t be anything other than removal, De Marco will rightly ensure it is 👍

This is a shambles.
IF Southampton DID spy and they are subsequently found to be guilty, then just fine them and play the final on the correct day.

One bloke in a bush spying on a PARTIAL training session is not going to impinge on the outcome of 180 minutes of football.

Southampton won.
Middlesbrough lost

Hull v Southampton in the final……on the 25th of May.

In terms of delay, one option is to switch the order of the finals next weekend which would give them a couple more days but I imagine they’ve ruled that out because of disruption to the L1 and 2 fans.

The state of Hellberg during all of this has been embarrassing. Sitting in the press conference after the defeat crying. Complete whopper, soft as shite.

Doing it to put pressure on and after his promotion bonus. If he's their leader then fuck me, he couldn't lead a seagull to the coast.

They did in the 1st leg and should've been out of sight by HT
And were lucky to be level at the end. A game has two halfs and Boro don’t seem able to manage that
Id be fuming if I was a hull fan and the game was put back to a later date.

Seen you can get 10-1 on betfair for boro to get promoted. 🤔
I hope Southampton have piled on it then 😂

I think you are correct. Boro have clearly been wronged. Whether Southampton would have won without cheating are a better side is irrelevant. I can't get my head round why Southampton would do this. Originally I thought that the EFL would go for a fine but it increasingly looks like Boro will be allowed to play the final and that would be the correct result. For once a football authority would be acting with the right haste and selecting the correct sanction. Southampton have acted like utter fools from what we can see.

Terrible isn't it.
Somebody in football that actually has morals.

Boro have been wronged -no doubt ànd “ Saints “ have admitted that
Hull fans are seemingly forgotten in this though -many will already have made arrangements-final needs to be kept as is -not come out with “subject to change “ now
