I have been thinking about it and im not sure i would swap their team, owner or manager for us dispite what they say about us.

I certainly wouldn't swap our season's as I view cups way more then the league position as a fan and our History and fan base is a million times better.

So fuck em

They're like a shite forest without the trophies.

Lack of respect for us as opponents aside, I think they have a right to be pissed off that their team isn't taking the cups seriously. They are the ideal side to be going for it in the cups - not going down, not going to finish top 6, decent side on their day.

This would be be our best season in decades if we were comfortably ninth while having these cup runs, and conversely we'd be unhappy if we're in that position and not genuinely challenging for trophies we had a realistic chance of winning

Always thought they were overrated. The media and a few on here were spaffing their pants early season, they are a mid-table side nout more or less

Really not as good as they think they are. That Ricky Lambert is neewhere near international class either.

Agreed. Not going out to win the cup is shocking for a club like Southampton who are totally safe and have no other trophy to play for. Shows a lack of respect for the competition and the fans.

We had a reasonable excuses for playing a weaker team, they didn't. Their next game isn't for 8 days.

Ricky Lambert tomorrows Grant Holt

Dinnar what they moaning for, they play good football and have some quality players. They lost they need to get over it.

Interesting read on their forum - must admit i agree with them. Why not go all out to win the cup - A wembley appearance for the fans, more cash for the club and raise its profile making it easier to attract better players. If we were in there position and didn't play a full strength team I would be gutted.

If I was a Southampton fan I would find that line up totally unacceptable. What are they resting players for? The battle for 8th?

Although they still didn't make as many changes as us and clearly we're not as good a team anyway. Great job from our lot today.

I was worried when I saw our team but as the game went on Southampton were awful. Not a patch on the first 30 minutes of the last time we played them.

Who is at fault for that? Not us mate.

One of them says Gardner is an international so their opinions aren't exactly the most insightful.
