'That's why I think he needs to review his approach a bit more. And Sunderland made as many changes as us to their side, but did that change their attitude? No. When clubs prioritize competitions so clearly, particularly in terms of attitude, it suggests someone wasn't up for it. Poyet, for all his rather arrogant and unpleasant character, seems to be more worried about having "Poyet AFC" out than MP did. That is difference. And that shows in the attitude of players. Their side was not better than ours.'

Not many fans like Poyet, well Poyet as a person anyway.

They have a right to be annoyed. They didn't play their full strength team in the only competition there was left for them to win.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when finishing mid table is considered a bigger deal by managers.

At the end of the day, I would rather argue the toss with mags over an FA Cup or League cup final win or two, than mid table nothing finishes. Bragging about winning trophies is far more impressive than season after season of mid table obscurity.

Poyet can be a right tit, I remember him kicking a ball onto the pitch against us when there was already one on 'cos he was pissed off. Think he may have been at Leeds at the time

Not long ago they were in league one now think they are brilliant the pricks

Check out this thread marra  some of them think they are so much better then us its unreal

We have a better team, a better academy and a better manager, I wouldn't trade that for a Wembley final and a relegation struggle thank you very much.

Them West Ham and Cardiff to go down please.

I reckon our future is about 100x brighter than theirs, so no I wouldn't swap.

Absolutely not, we are comfortably mid table, playing great football, we have a great squad of players, brilliant manager, are apparently well run. What have Sunderland to match that, apart from Poyet and a cup final, where they are likely to be humiliated

and loads more which are more stuck up but i cant be bothered to quote em!

I thought our second string were better than them in every department. Amazing how arrogant supporters of sides like Southampton can become to think they have some sort of god given right to beat us. They were a 3rd tier outfit 3 years ago.
They're 8th and we're 18th, they had no reason to rest players, the players didn't look arsed and the manager even less so, any set of fans would be pissed off with that.

Arrogant toss pots, glad they're not going to Wembley...
2 draws and 2 wins against that 'amazing' footballing side...suck it Saints - southern kernts

true about lambert but by the same token with a bit more composure we could have had another couple in the second half.

This. As much as Lambert should have scored. We should have had another when Whickham went for goal with 3 against 1.

You need to stop harping on about Sunderland's side being nearly all replacements, Giaccherini and Borini are both full Italian internationals, Larsson is an international, so is Craig Gardener isn't he ? They have a better squad than us and Poyet knows how to use it to their advantage.

This quote from their forum caught my eye

Poyet got it spot on today.. They turned up expecting to roll us over after the league game - but it seems that our 2nd string aren't as bad as everyone thinks
