South Shields FC 25/26 Thread


It appears that the key maybe, don't play Ethan Robson in the starting 11........ Seriously 7 to go and still up for grabs.....Both Fylde and Shields deserve to go up but Football often isn't like that.

Ha'way the Lads and Up the Pools....Hoping Pools play Shields next year in the League.

Yep both Robson and Roles have a load of potential but need more sharpness and would not be in my first 11 just yet, they will fit in better but having Carson back is a bonus and hopefully Kelly back shortly will give extra impetus - he and McGurk can both control that left side. Oh and Tom Watson had a super game too. This was the sort of performance that we saw all through the first part of the season. The only weakness was Wheeldon who had an off day and couldn't keep the ball. Summer wish: try to sign Sonny and Oli on permanent deals... both 5 stars yet again.

Bainbridge had a great game.
 
Brilliant news is that Sonny Finch has signed a full time contract (2 years i think) . Has been one of the stars this season, goals and assists (and his stunning solo goal against Merthyr the best so far). Hoping that Bainbridge can be signed up too, with Kelly, Crossley, Sheik coming back after long term injuries, the squad is looking good, shame that we will not have McGurk for a while after his ankle injury at the weekend as he has linked up with Bainbridge superbly and provided two super crosses for Blackett's goals last week too.
 
Alfreton Town at home today - must win they are relegation zone.

I’ll be optimistic and say 5-0 with finch bagging on his first start as a permanent player.

Also signed Niall McAndrews from Derby on loan last night, attacking mid and mates with other Derby loanee, Lennon Wheeldon

As a Pools fan and also wanting The Mariners to gain promotion, I am torn ......Wanting a South Shields win but can I live with myself wanting Darlo to win too.....maybe a draw at Fylde would placate .......🤔
