South Africa v Pakistan

I always find the SA commentators so bad; Pakistan wickets fall - great bowling by the Saffers. Pakistan take wickets - don't understand why we are losing wickets.

Pitch is....interesting. You certainly never get dull cricket in SA.

Or with Pakistan cricket in general. Been a interesting test match. Cant see pak saving this series. Their bowlers are mint but their batters are gash away from home. More of them need to come over for county cricket like the used to.

Not related to the game, but thinking about what Chunks said there’s some canny fast bowling attacks around the world these days.

Aus: Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins
SA: Steyn, Philander, Rabada, Olivier
NZ: Southee, Boult, Wagner
Pak: Amir, Abbas, Ali, Afridi
Eng: Anderson, Broad, Stokes, Curran
Ind: Bumrah, Shami, Sharma, Kumar
WI: Roach, Holder, Gabriel

Seems like ball is dominating bat a lot more often in test cricket which is refreshing to see.

Absolutely

People want to criticize batting but some good bowlers

WI attack isn't in the same league as the others there.

Judging by their performance in this series, also question marks over how good Australia's is without assistance from ball tampering.

Childish reply.

They simply aren't as good as the other countries attacks quoted, with the possible exception of Australia on current form.

Steyn, Philander, Rabada, Anderson, Abbas and latterly Bumrah are all world class fast bowlers and match winners against the best opposition.

Roach, Gabriel and Holder have bullied the fuck out of the Zimbos, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka but struggled to make a mark against better opposition. Holder, their current highest ranked test bowler, averages 60 against Australia, 50 against SA and India and 35 against England.

IIRC you spent the entire 2015 tour telling us how Jerome Taylor was world class....a new ball bowler with a worse average and strike rate than England's fourth seamer.

Yeah they are pretty good like, Roach and Gabriel bowl regularly over 90mph

Just settled down to watch a bit of this and that great team man - Kevin Peterson - is on commentary. Spoils it for me.

Pakistan post 317 in the 3rd ODI.

Imam ul-Haz (Inzi's nephew) becomes the second fastest to 1000 ODI runs, only behind his teammate Fakhar Zaman. Didn't realize he was producing like that! Viv Richards 3rd, and KP 4th on that list.

With Babar Azam the fastest to 1000 iT20 runs, they seem to have a canny shorter format team. Its just the batters looked rancid in the test series.

The 5th ODi decider is on tomorrow. Loved the series so far.

Both these two teams will be in the reckoning in the world cup over here.
