Sounds like the Saudis are close to buying Inter?

I reckon the long term goal will be to have Inter as a feeder club if anything (as bizarre as it sounds).

The Premier League is where the money is.
Until the ESL becomes reality.
The big boys in this country threatened the FL with breakaways from the late 70s until 92 when they finally did. They were bought off with being allowed to keep their home gate money and othe concessions. They were owned by families that’d ran the clubs for years back then and still put their own greed before the common good. These hedge funds and forrin billionaires, oligarchs, despots etc won’t have even their concerns for the rest.
Inter are an ESL certainty. The mags wad have to claw their way from the arse end of the PL at least then get ower most the so called big six to even stand a chance. Would the other owners want the Saudis in? I doubt it but it’d be easier to knock the mags back on pasty glory grounds than Inter.
The Saudis are simply hedging their bets.
I'd disagree with that. There's a lot of money (and a whole load of prestige) to be gained from taking one of those B-Level European clubs and "doing a PSG" - i.e. turning them into a dominant domestic force and a top-table European club. With Barca and Juve both in decline, there's definitely space for a new Super Club. It would make sense for a wealthy dictatorship to pour money into an already very good club, quickly start competing for world-class players and Champions League titles and to sit back and enjoy the positive publicity and access that comes with it.

That said it won't happen. The first rule of the world of PIF and Newcastle is that if there's a move that makes sense, they will decide to do the complete opposite.
Barca and Juve will be back in the top double handful in the world in a couple of seasons.

France is the weakest/smallest league it’d be worthwhile an oligarch/despot getting involved with. Germany’s off limits as are some Spanish clubs. Roma-Lazio-Napoli-Valencia-Marseilles-Lyon are I reckon easier club-city-league combinations to get deep into the CL-EL-ESL malarkey than the English also rams like the mags, Villa, whu, everton etc.
