Sounds like the Saudis are close to buying Inter?

Can see this being a clever move. Nufc will struggle to sign players so buy Inter & loan them over. Inter are in the shit financially so that would unload em off the books.
Can see St Maximan going other way mind..

The PL will simply change the rules if it's being used as a cheat mode though.

Inter in a financial mess but still 4 points clear at the top of the table. Saudis will soon get bored with the mags if this deal goes ahead. Mags will just be another cell on row 168 of column AH on the 47th tab of the PIF spreadsheet.

I reckon the long term goal will be to have Inter as a feeder club if anything (as bizarre as it sounds).

The Premier League is where the money is.

Could be covering some bases incase the super league does become a thing in the next few years. Inter will walk straight into whilst them up the road won't.

I don't think they'll see the mags as a feeder club or owt, but if it happens (which seems far from certain tbf) I think it does suggest they won't be spending untold millions on the mags like their fans hope and expect. It would suggest that they're actually investing with the aim of profit. Invest in clubs that are financially viable (the mags a low cost to turnover, inter with financial trouble likely a good deal), and seek to make money down the line like many others do. For me, if you are happy to lose money as a statement you get one club and make it synonymous with Saudi, which Newcastle would be prefect for as they weren't challenging without them. If you're owning two or more clubs, chances are you're in it for a different reason. Hope it happens

I'd disagree with that. There's a lot of money (and a whole load of prestige) to be gained from taking one of those B-Level European clubs and "doing a PSG" - i.e. turning them into a dominant domestic force and a top-table European club. With Barca and Juve both in decline, there's definitely space for a new Super Club. It would make sense for a wealthy dictatorship to pour money into an already very good club, quickly start competing for world-class players and Champions League titles and to sit back and enjoy the positive publicity and access that comes with it.

That said it won't happen. The first rule of the world of PIF and Newcastle is that if there's a move that makes sense, they will decide to do the complete opposite.

Looks to me like they’ve bought the mags to run them as Inter’s B team.
I don't even know how they could, to feed a club like inter you need proper grade 1 scouting system.

At this point the mags have fuck all, be about 5 years before they get a system in place to be anywhere near the level of inter wanting their players.
