Sunderland Til I Cry
Striker
They look like galvi rails so no chance they’ll ever be painted in situ, it would just peel off. Would need powder coating as has been said further up the thread.

People have pride in our club and the stadium and want it looked after and improved. We can afford to do it properly, we just don’t — in this instance we’ve just done it on the cheap.I genuinely can’t believe some of the things people will twist about like.
People whinging because another stadium’s bit of metal looks better than our stadiums little bit of metal.
Exactly. I’d rather we’d just saved the money. Do it properly next season.I don’t think they’re arguing for the sake of how it looks mind
It’s the fact of how clubs are getting in rail that has been specifically designed to maximise space, comfort, view etc
Deffo a cheap and cheerful option taken by SAFC here.TLogon or register to see this imageThis picture shows our rails nowt like city or spurs!
Do you sit/stand there? If the club did more things properly then people wouldn’t have to pass comment on it negatively. Let’s just blindly ignore it when they do things on the cheap… a bit like with the strikers last year…
Pitch looks fantastic, mind. Looks like they’ve spent the dosh there.![]()
Aah well, apologiesPeople are just pointing out we didn't install rail seating and went for the cheaper option of just installing rails in the aisle.
What difference does that make?Do you sit/stand there?
Just wondering if it would impact you. What difference does that make?
Is that why you are called "Big Duke" ? Left your calling card !No, but ive had a shite in The Queens bog.
It’s pathetic manAre we whinging about rails now? Honestly man do people not get bored of the constant whining?
Zinc chromate primer then some red boottopping paint, that’s if either are manufactured these days. I’m sure International could cook something up if they are still in business. They look like galvi rails so no chance they’ll ever be painted in situ, it would just peel off. Would need powder coating as has been said further up the thread.
It impacts all the people who sit there. Just cause I sit in a different area doesn’t matter.Just wondering if it would impact you.
Fuck off manIt impacts all the people who sit there. Just cause I sit in a different area doesn’t matter.
It impacts the club as as whole in ten years when a new owner, who gives a shit about doing a proper job has to take out the rails and replace the seats with proper rail seating instead of going ‘well that’s been done properly the first time — that’s one less job to do.’
You ever heard the phrase ‘buy well — buy once?’
If it doesn’t matter to you, just ignore the thread. It’s pathetic man
You’re the only one whinging. About other fans on this threads. Ones who give a shit about the club and don’t think everything is brilliant all the time.Fuck off man
You're whinging for the sake of whinging. Get a grip
No-one sits there. They stand. It's made it safer. It performs it's function. Unless the rails fall apart people whinging are just looking for a reason to imo.It impacts all the people who sit there. Just cause I sit in a different area doesn’t matter.

Why wouldn’t it matter to me I’ll be standing there this coming season and it’s about the SOL?If it doesn’t matter to you, just ignore the thread.

Let’s just play in taty sacks painted red and white, as they ‘perform their function’ in distinguishing us from the opposition.No-one sits there. They stand. It's made it safer. It performs it's function. Unless the rails fall apart people whinging are just looking for a reason to imo.
Half the stadium is concrete, it's not like it's ruining the aesthetics![]()
How old are you, five? Can no one have a discussion on here without throwing out insults like a toddler would? Why wouldn’t it matter to me I’ll be standing there this coming season and it’s about the SOL?
Stop whinging like a tart man
The strip you play in and a metal bar are not the same things. I'm all for doing jobs properly, investing, etc. and there are other areas of the stadium need proper investment and modernising, but I just don't see why these rails are so terrible.Let’s just play in taty sacks painted red and white, as they ‘perform their function’ in distinguishing us from the opposition.
Look at what a brilliant job the club has done with this year’s strips and how well received it’s been. They’ve done a cracking job. Why can’t we expect things to be done properly in other areas? It’s attention to detail. Some people will never see it and others will.
Again no one’s arguing the aesthetics, it’s just not specifically designed rail seating which many clubs are going for. This is a wider point into stadium upkeep and improvements that’s been discussed for a couple of year now. We seem to go for the cheapest option which ends up costing us more in the long run.No-one sits there. They stand. It's made it safer. It performs it's function. But why will this cost us more in the long run?Again no one’s arguing the aesthetics, it’s just not specifically designed rail seating which many clubs are going for. The option we have is taking space away from the row, with a potential trip hazard every metre or so. There is no rail seating the seats are exactly the same.
For reference here is Shrewsburys rail seating -
