SOL expansion

Majority of the lost seats were when the corporate got redone and BCB seats were changed. Not to do with the away end. There is about 500 in the away end lost on at the front but that’s it
Eh? The BCB seats moved when the away fans moved up top.

Move away fans back to where they were and the majority of capacity would return. I don't think that'll happen, but they'll be looking to move them somewhere else.

They could, but what you're suggesting would be moving away fans. It'll definitely happen if we sell out regularly. It's a very cheap way of creating more seats to sell.
I'm not suggesting moving away fans?

Simply open the front of the North Stand again and narrow the gap in the NW corner.

This reminds me of when you moved your seat to the south stand singing end 10+ years ago but said it was an obvious expectation that everyone would sit down and not stand

Crackerjack logic

Ah, you're just being argumentative because you misinterpreted something I said a decade ago. Fair enough.

I was moved then because my seat became a BCB seat due to the away fan move. Now you've forgotten that happened seemingly. 😂

I was happy to stand by the way, but was being moaned at by people behind when I did. 😂 The people behind were moved there from the NS too but didn't want to stand, despite enjoying a good sing song.

I thought you suggested moving some of them to the front rows of the NS Upper and creating more space in the rest of the NS upper as a result? If they can get away with doing that then they'll do it.
Well theoretically I'm saying keep them in the North upper, but use the front part which they keep empty at the moment. That will allow more SAFC fans in the NW corner.

Where?I think they will be left where they are unless forced to move them by the prem board!

Yes, that would be a good idea and moving the away fans in that way would create cheap extra capacity, if possible.

Either use the front few rows again so that we don't waste a load of seats, or consider moving them to somewhere in the lower bowl. We've got special temporary permission for them to be where they are at the moment.

Temporary like Newcastles exemption you mean?i really doubt they will move them as the cost and disruption is too great! It cannot be the corners alone as they are not big enough so where do you suggest? back to the south stand behind the goal?

Could be anywhere really. It would make most sense to move them into the front block of the NS Upper (if they're allowed) freeing up more seats for home supporters in the rest of the NS Upper.

The away fans will be in the North upper as long as they are in the same position at Saudi Park.

Could we even build it that way? I know the stadiums built in a way it's easy for them to build round like the north stand but could they actually change the design like that fairly easy?
They can do owt if hey wanted to but i doubt it would be a cost effective option! They are not going to spend a tenner if a decent job could be done for a fiver!..who would? In my many years supporting safc i have only ever had my gastor flabbered once and that was this July's spending spree!... the second time will be if they redesign the south stand into one terrace!..not going to happen!!...unless of course Elon takes us over!

Think what is most likely to happen is the North and East Stand have corporate boxes but in them at the back of the lower bowl. This would necessitate building outwards, along the East Stand at least, to accommodate the extra corporate facilities. At the same time they can widen and modernise the concourses of the East Stand so they can make more revenue from fans on match days by making it easier to buy a pint or some food at half time (and maybe make it more attractive to spend money in the ground before and after the match). If that works out they should modernise the rest of the concourses in the stadium.

With the addition of the extra corporate boxes at the back of the lower bowl in the North and East stands, this would result in a reduction of capacity (maybe about 2k? maybe more?) so the working capacity of the stadium would probably end being about 44.5k (assuming that the current one is 46.5k). Whether the club would feel it necessary to extend at that point would be up to them and depend on whether they want to keep it the same and increase ticket prices or expand the South Stand to more than make up for the reduction in capacity.

Nonsense.

The expansion will only happen when, like you suggest, we’re established in the PL and beginning to challenge for Europe. At that point the demand will be there all the time.

At the moment it’s not a sustained demand, and they’re not going to make a massive capital investment on a stand that might sit empty.
So next season then ;)
