SOL expansion

It's proven time and time again that unless you have a season ticket you will pick and choose games.

Until there is a point where we have around 40k season card holders do not expand the stadium.

Minor adjustments yes, I still think away fans should be in South East corner .

These days a sell out is well under the official capacity, thid needs addressing as I don't know any other stadium that has this issue .

Scum around 52k capacity and 52k crowds most weeks .
I think a lot of our season ticket holders pick and choose too. You can see it's busier in season ticket areas on Saturday games.

Be an upgrade to black cats bar though with west stand seats I’d imagine

Mate you can drive an ambulance through the access tunnels  If they we’re big enough for Ed Sheerans stage and the Take That circus concerts I think they’ll big enough for anything
ok mate if your right they will make no alterations to the tunnel !so as i said lets just wait and see!Its about speed and efficiency of set up and dismantling! Yes we have put on concerts but i bet they dad to break some of the bigger stuff down to get through the tunnel !..anyway there is no point in just repeating positions lets just wait and see!

No we wouldn't. Roker Park was great and holds memories I'll take to my grave but by the end it was past its prime and only held 22k so we needed to move.

What we don't need is to pay a fortune add extra seats to the stadium we have when it's never filled anyway. I mean of all the issues/problems the club may have right now stadium capacity certainly isn't one of them

Tbf none of us know what it would cost. I'm just using other clubs as a benchmark which is as close as we can go. Villa shelving plans to expand Villa Park cos of the cost, Everton new stadium costing far more than expected, Liverpool expansion costing £200m.

Why go to all that expense when money is tight as it is for seats that'll just stand there empty? Makes absolutely no financial sense whatsoever. If the money isn't there to modernise what we already have then it certainly isn't there for a needless extension.

If we do get promoted and being prices in line with other PL clubs our 48k capacity will be just fine.
Money isn't tight. Do you think villa sell players to carry out renovations of their ground? It's alai clear a basic extension would be no where near £200 million. It'd be more than the last one but not significant outlay. Adding seats when adding boxes and corporate areas is a no brainer. It future proof the ground at a time works would be going on anyway. Nothings been announced yet but if we're to be promoted we'd 100% need more capacity.

But we wouldn't. Average ticket price in the PL is around £45/£50. If we charge what other clubs charge the current capacity will be fine. In these times of FFP/PSR what's important is how much money you can get per fan.

Moot point anyway. We don't seem to have the money to tidy the stadium up as it is let alone what it would cost to extend in in today's climate of extortionate building costs.

We've 2 billionaire who own the club. They clearly have it (improvements aren't a drag on FFP either) they chose not to invest in their asset. Thats their choice but to pretend they've not made it will get you sand in your ears. We can certainly increase prices but I, like many would take a long view and increase capcaity AND reduce pricing for younger fans. We're losing support every year we're out of the top flight. Extending our ground would be a fraction of Villa or Liverpool as ours was designed to be extended.

There is absolutely no point in expanding it anytime soon.
there was no reason the build anything in the city centre because nobody come to sunderland....The investment currently stands at £2billion in the last 5 years or so with investment coming in from all over the place....Lets have ambition and not rest on the content what weve got syndrome...couldnt give a toss about having empty seats in the championship but theres always a chance of not having enough in europe (nearly put champion league there)

Do we know for sure that they do?

KLD is a trust fund billionaire. His trust fund may not have matured yet. It could be that the reason he has ran the club so diligently and thriftfully so far, and also the reason that his mum seemed to be involved in the acquisition, is that he had to apply to the executor of his trust fund (mummy) to acces some funds early to buy his shares in the club. That would mean that he doesn’t actually have any cash to pump in without getting permission again.

Playing devils advocate of course, I haven’t a f***ing clue about his financial situation, but then neither do the rest of us to my knowledge, so speaking with such authority seems remiss.

The next extension is about the concerts ect. Part of the club's vision of being more sustainable. Selling out for championship games had nothing to do with it. It's 2 tiers but with greater access for setting up and getting it out again.
Yep. As is the PA. None of the upgrades are for footy fans. Mind who gives a shit.

There’s no plans to extend the stands mate. Although capacity might increase by 1,000-2,000, that will be down to extra hospitality options

Exactly what I’ve heard today. Was just about to post it. Something could happen over the summer. Corporate in East stand that will bring about a slight increase in capacity. Will take us up to just over 50 thousand capacity. Must be extra seats being added and boxes I’d imagine

How is it possible to put extra seats in the east stand whether it’s corporate or normal seats without taking the roof off and building at the back of the stand which would cost millions, I just can’t see how it could be done.
