SOL expansion

If they build a load of boxes and a 'premium suite' above the East stand lower bowl it will vastly improve the revenue but hardly affect the home atmosphere. Maybe add 1500 (@ average £250+ a pop is about £7m per season). Away hospitality is a thing now, so 76 Yards might become a money spinner there.
For the jump-around/'scenes' kind of fans, the Roker End needs to be a Spuds/Dortmund style Red Wall- all safe standing with affordable SCs and some £40 day sales. Grow the passion.
This increased revenue is a crucial part of the sustainable Prem club we all want to be. They need a plan that achieves this while building atmosphere in the stadium, and making the SoL a destination for other Prem club's fans to spend their money.

Where do you put all the support infrastructure for it? Bars, lounges and kitchens. You can't have all that hanging in midair off the back of the stand. You can't do anything without expanding the stadium skeleton. It's just as easy to extend the upper tier round from where the north upper currently ends.

bournemouth, brentford, brighton all consolidating in the PL with smaller grounds. One of them even poached one of our best prospects.

all with littler stadiums.
……and far higher average household incomes in their hoods.

Buffet boxes. Charge less. The power cables etc are all below the “extra added seats” at the back of the east stand already. Thing is they’d need a corridor to get round to them from the main entrance or a new cheapo entrance in the east stand.

To do that you'd need to walk thorough the BCB/76 Yards and then build above the NEC as well.

Prices are quoted for adults non concessionary non family enclosure man city's is 425 quid compared to arsenals

700 quid to see that team cheap as chips

Aye but it's only like 14 rows of the South Stand right at the back of the third tier.

Anything below Row K in the top stand is £745 including both bottom tiers.

- That's the prices btw, so many different prices - it's quite confusing in a way especially some of the blocks which must be 500 seats max.

Everyone shouting me down about concentrating on the football and cementing our place in the PL rather than putting extra seats in? You’re all happy with the team then? That’s not where we should be investing?

The PL has changed so much since the last time we were there. We have a massive task on our hands to stay there

Yeah. Though it was mentioned when it opened that boxes could be all around. I’ve always wondered how though without massive works outside.
The infrastructure to get up there is in the west strand and the east end of the north stand. It probably wouldn't be a huge job but it would result in a lower capacity without an extension.
Annoying how the north stand extension is shorter than the concourse why’s that? Would the south stand extension be the same?
I'm not sure. I remember it being mentioned when they were building it as it wasn't on the original plans etc.

It was because of the road that runs along between the NS and the pool. Great planning.

I never understood why they had to make half the corner the same as the West Stand, then drop half way round to the height of the restricted North Stand. Why not just make the whole corner the shorter height. Looks wrong.

I wadnt like to sat in that seat at the back in the corner? Surely its a restricted view?

Become established in the prem then expand. Totally agree mate. It will be crazy to get relegated & have thousands of empty seats.

It’s relatively little in terms of spend when looking at how much Prem quality players cost. The corporate side of things bring good return.
We can do both.
