I didn’t say that the club must move forward I get that but was more on the line of communication & process from the club regarding brick removal and replacementA number of us have already had bricks moved. It’s a minor issue in my opinion. There will be thousands of brick owners who have passed away over the years. The ground can’t become some sort of wailing wall at the expense of progress.
Be finished by MayHow’s the paint job getting on?
That’s fine but if the club go ahead with this then we can’t not move the club forward because of where some bricks areBecause it’s about location and some people won the lottery on location and some people pay a visit to a loved one careful how you handle this subject…
They have all the locations of the bricks it should be part of there planningThat’s fine but if the club go ahead with this then we can’t not move the club forward because of where some bricks are
Bricks with names on would not stop any expansion, nor should it IMO , I’m sure they can be moved (or re-done ), but if it wasn’t possible then unfortunately so be itI didn’t say that the club must move forward I get that but was more on the line of communication & process from the club regarding brick removal and replacement
I have one in panel 8 which got moved for the ticket office. The club did communicate what was happening but it could have been a bit better at times.I didn’t say that the club must move forward I get that but was more on the line of communication & process from the club regarding brick removal and replacement
Need to move away from thinking the SOL is only used as a football ground.Never said we were?
Just building extensions when we could easily get relegated, is just stupid, as if we don't get back up straight away all the good stuff we've done with finances are well out the window. That should be top priority, not hypothetical extensions for a crowd that might not exist.
The way some are going on here you'd think we were already safe.
I’m guessing you have a brick there with an emotional attachment for you so I do get that but they are not going to do a multimillion pound based around where some bricks are set. They have proved this when they moved some just to do the new ticket office or founders, I can’t remember what oneThey have all the locations of the bricks it should be part of there planning

It’s not. It’s a community stadium now used for sport and music concerts.
Extend in the right way and the internals could be univeristy lecture theatres etc through the week or office space for digital nomads/remote workers etc.
Also increasing corporate boxes to the east stand would be cheap and effective.
Concerts are max 4 times a year and a North stand extension wouldn't increase capacity anyway.
For the other stuff is the current space actually used before talk of more? I can't see there being much demand for business conference space in Sunderland. There's barely any businesses around, unlike the likes of Manchester, Birmingham and London.
They moved bricks when the ticket office relocated to the NE cornerThe bricks need to be communicated to everyone where & when this transition will happen and try to keep the same location and height to new locations
I doubt we have any space used currently.
And I agree with you about no conferences etc - that’s where the Mags are going wrong.
I’m suggesting we build the space with a tenant in mind who would pay to be there. - the university would be a great shout. As would a Regis or somebody like that.
The money that can be made from concerts is massive. Could match our season ticket sales with 4 big gigs. Wouldn’t be about the increase in seats, would be the increase in hospitality and just flip the end the stage is atConcerts are max 4 times a year and a North stand extension wouldn't increase capacity anyway.

I 100% agree with expansion it’s the process of making sure all bricks relocated properly and notifying if possible all those involved or an email to ask where the bricks are being moved too…Bricks with names on would not stop any expansion, nor should it IMO , I’m sure they can be moved (or re-done ), but if it wasn’t possible then unfortunately so be it
Suppose when you put it like that.....end of day I'd still say give it 3 seasons then see where we are.Just been reading comments from mags regarding their supposed new ground. Quite a few saying that if they ‘only’ build a 75k stadium, they need to make sure that it’ll be easily extendable in the future. Meanwhile we have people questioning whether we should increase the south stand with an extra 5k seats. I know mags are seriously deluded, but it does show just how over cautious some of our fans are.
Was over today at the club shop. They’ve resprayed the main bulk of the east stand but not the North East or South East corners yet. I would imagine they will be getting painted next but when I don’t knowHow’s the paint job getting on?
