First Djokovic v Alcaraz hard court match up in a couple of hours in the final at Cincy, bookies have Djokovic as a pretty decent favourite. Not dropped a set all week and Alcaraz hasn't really played all that great since Wimbledon. Only dropped 13 sets in 42 matches from the start of Indian Wells through to winning Wimbledon but has lost 9 sets in 9 matches since. Djokovic looks like someone that's a bit angry at losing a Wimbledon final  first time he's took a non Slam tournament seriously all year.

Hopefully it's all just a bit of a warm up for what happens three weeks today anyway.

Looking forward to it

Djokovic in 2, Alcaraz hasnt played great but think he will be better at the US Open, Djokovic taking it as a proper warm up having not played since that defeat.

That's an all timer that. Obvious dips here and there through the match but bound to happen when it's 35 degrees blazing sun on a court slow as fuck but that was an absolute war. One of the best matches I've seen in a long time.

A long time since Djokovic has dug that deep to win a match. Alcaraz becoming even more of a Federer regen throwing in the SABR and then losing from match point up against Djokovic ;-)

As long as he doesnt lose at the US open against him ;)

There is still a lot of immaturity in Alcaraz match play he seems to concentrate more on certain points instead of all of them like djokovic, he needs to learn to control his petulance a bit and slow down slightly. I think there's an arrogance that he can play like this and win every point but hopefully that defeat taught him he can't. If he had played that second set with full concentration he wins that match all day.

Understand the point, but for me that'd be a shame. What you've described is what makes Alcaraz so amazing to watch. Not sure he needs to do anything differently anyway, as after Novak there isn't a single player going to cause him any problems in the next decade as it stands.

They are really up against it to get the qualifying finished before the tournament starts. The weather in New York has been awful.

Unless Felix decides to play well out of nowhere for the first time all year that's gotta be the best Slam draw Djokovic has had in a loooooooong time.

Be quite happy with Medvedev's draw if I was him as well, nice price but probably relying on Sinner to take Alcaraz out to have a chance really.

Might not be the case for everyone but I'm quite sad watching Milos Raonic walk off court for probably the last time in a Slam. One of the best servers of all time denied Slam titles by Muzz, Djokovic, Federer and his body letting him down. 2016 Australian Open semi final he was by some distance the better player until his body crumbled.

Another pretty big name (John Isner going out this week as well) of the B list behind four/five of the best players of all time that played a large part in the greatest era of the best sport in the world disappearing.

Jack Sock is retiring after this tournament as well.
