Well done Rafa, one for the oldies, so glad he beat the Russian, just watching the presentation ceremony the upstart is muttering and shaking his head, such a bad loser.

One of his best wins ever that. He's played better in a few finals and lost them but he's just an absolute warrior. Biggest to ever play the sport by a fair distance probably.

Just came in to mention this, what's his f***ing problem? Just looks like a wanker.

I was listening to commentary from the US network with McEnroe and others, they had basically given up on Rafa after he lost the 2nd set (which he should of won btw). Never heard such defeatist rubbish.

Nadal proved them all wrong.

A little bit gutted that he won it when he did as I had a 20/1 betbuilder that just needed them to hit 6-6 but I also had a nice bet on Rafa to win with Medvedev to take a set.

I don't know about the players but I think I'm getting too old for this. Absolutely exhausted after that!

Winning in that manner, in such a high quality final given everything.....yes, that is Rafas greatest slam win.
Got to feel for Medvedev, thought he was going to get it to a tiebreak after showing such guts to break Rafa when serving for the title.
Medvedev will win Australia in the next year or two, hope he wins US again this year
I’m a huge Federer fan, so gutted to see him lose the joint record but I’ve got massive respect for Nadal (certainly favour him over Djokovic) and can say that Nadal can genuinely be regarded as the GOAT after this fantastic performance. Immense.
Too many French slams for me ;) so i still have Federer.
Agree on everything else though.

If rafa wins the french, djokovic has to win 3 slams against Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Thiem at 36 years old. Tough ask.
Wouldnt rule Rafa out for Wimbledon either
Great chance for rafa to end up the greatest statistically on slam counts

Eurosport announcing Nadal is a nice lad and never curses or uses bad language.

Then he comes on the interview and says "this is ****ing unbelievable, **** me "

you say that but just look at Federer and Djokovics records at the French tells you how hard it is to win on clay at a major

Netflix will be over the moon with that tournament like  couldn't have wished for a better start. First episode or few episodes of the documentary is gonna be canny

The whole Djokovic situation, the Peng Shuai situation, one of Rafa's best ever wins, an Aussie winning the tournament, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis winning dubs, 2022 Australian of the year reaching the final in his last ever tournament, Medvedev being a troll for two weeks. Canny.
