What happened to Saintlymackem's picture, is it just an internet problem (losing the picture) or has his whole post been removed?
Under duress? Or didn't he realise the rules? He didn't take the picture specifically for the comp so withdrew his entry

Only one picture can be entered into the vote per round per member.
Pick which one you want to use and we will delete the other one for you
Finally managed to take a series of shots on Sunday evening so I'll enter one today or tomorrow.
Not a watering can in sight, although they are bordering on NSFW so I might have to tweak my entry a touch. (Fnarr)
Nice pic janiep.
I like the patterns and the composition in general.
You call yourself a beginner but you have a good eye for interesting shots.
Thanks a lot MB. I know it's not a winner but, as I've said before, I'm having fun trying.

Well, I'm not too sure about that.
The type of photography I do myself these days is simply walking around with a digital compact and seeing what I come across so your style and efforts give hope to the rest of us. A fresh pair of eyes as it were.
It's a kind of natural, spontaneous approach to photography which is an art in itself, recording our surrounding as they are. A form of realism.
I thought your last entry showed that and this one confirms it.
All very true, I have seen some wonderful photos taken with compacts and some awful ones with SLR's.
Obviously the SLR's are capable of a lot better technically, but so much is in the composition of the photo.
I wish we were seeing more people entering with mobile phone/compact camera photos as I am sure the right photos will still get the votes, they may or may not win, but you can see if you are on the right path or not.
I find that one a lot nicer on the eyes than your 1st entry janiep !

I scared to ask what janies first one was
A member of the household had rather an unpleasant boil developing on his neck
Actually, I rather liked the way the pic caught his 5 o'clock stubble, I thought there might be an interesting take on the theme in just photographing that, maybe in different lights, but I couldn't be bothered to go back and try and get him to sit still long enough while I experimented!
