SMB Film Thread 2026

Same it has good reviews think I'll go Tuesday night unless I can convince the Mrs its a comedy / romance - I did in the late 90s tell her that event horizon was a detective murder mystery as she hates horror....there was murder and it was mystery what happened to the ship so mostly right. It still gets mentioned.....
Event Horizon remains the loudest film I ever watched at the cinema. Can't imagine someone who doesn't like horror not kicking you in the shins! Well played!

The tank on netflix. German tank crew go over Russian lines to rescue a fella, was alreet. Pretty predictable ending but a reasonable 5/10

Paprika [2006] 8/10
An absolute mind-f**k of a movie.

What's Up Doc? [1972] 8/10
I have a low tolerance for most slapstick and farce. This one really worked for me, though, and didn't outstay it's welcome.

Just been to see The Bone Temple.

Completely mental from the start, then keeps going. Themes of good and evil. It’s not really about zombies but they’re there and used well. Brilliant acting. Really recommend.

Sets up the next one perfectly too.

8/10

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

8/10, possibly 9, Feinnes and O'Connell are absolutely brilliant.
It's definitely a 9 having had time to absorb it. THAT bit with Feinnes had me grinning from ear to ear, you'll know what I mean if you've seen it.

Peter Bradshaw gives a positively glowing write up in The Guardian for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, a four star review that’s written like a five star review.

I’m very much looking forward to seeing this film.
He’s only right three times a year mind.
