Simon Moore compendium thread

He's a good egg and helps the home grown quota.
Exactly. He played well in the 4 games when Patto was injured. He could be useful if we manage to get into Europe.

The thing to realise about Europe competitions is that if you are in the top 24 of 36 teams you qualify for the knockout stage. Admittedly you play one extra round if you are not in the top 8 but so what?

Can afford to play some second string players and youngsters in the 6 preliminary games as long as you pick up a few points.

Basically a point a game is likely to get you in top 24 - relegation form.

Remember O'Nien being interviewed after making his Premier League debut at Anfield and he went out of his way to highlight how much of an influence Moore was behind the scenes and said that we wouldn't have won promotion without him last season.

Pleased to see that he's sticking around.

The more football evolves, the more important the dressing room becomes I think. Everyone has access now to world class players, coaches, analytics etc., with the main threat of that failing being people being arseholes.

as long as they good enough to be in the team and compete, thats all matters. Honest, I feel like not ready for europe, it is too much for our squad.

O'Nien “I have his shirt in my locker because if I’m not playing, it reminds me to be like him. He is a wonderful human, and he puts that first, and then it’s the footballer. He just has this way of connecting the group, demanding from everyone, and just making sure everyone holds the standard of what this club and this city is. For me, he’ll be the unsung hero of what we’ve done here."

“He won’t get the mural on the side of a wall, but his shirt is there in my locker, and I know that anyone who has ever played with him, if they hear this, they’ll know straight away exactly what I’m talking about. I wouldn’t even need to explain it to them.”

Fair play, a 3rd choice GK could just go through the motions but sounds like he's more like another coach someone we'll not see how much of an effect he has on the team but sounds like he has a big positive effect on the squad.
O'Nien is a top top fella. What a legend.

IF we do get Europe and we’ve qualified for the knockouts early, would like to see Moore get a game in one of the dead rubbers. What a final game of his career that would be to bow out in Europe

1 year extension activated - seems to be in and amongst everything whenever the cameras are around, seems like a good'n

Very happy with this. Has the perfect profile for what we are about and that #3 GK role is key in terms of what you bring behind the scenes in terms of character.

Tuchel selected Jason Steele in the recent england squad for the same reason. Highly unlikely to ever get close to playing, but there to make sure the atmosphere is always positive, there to stay out for an extra hour if players want to do finishing or free kick practise.

Basically all the extra bits that your regular keepers wouldn't want to be involved in. I can see why its a very important role

We can sign players but how many can be registered for each competition?

25 in European and PL

Players u21s at the club for atleast 24 months dont need to register

European, you need minimum 2 goal keepers, 8 Grownplayers with nation, and 4 home grown at club, also have registered a minimum of 17 players in think

Imagine the fume if say Roefs stayed out with Brobbey and got injured

Dunno if anyone follows the NFL, but the best backup quarterbacks are like this. If you have to play them you basically have to hope they'll be just about sort of competent, but that's outweighed by the hugely valuable work they do in practice sessions, mentoring, team bonding and effectively being an extra coach.

He's a good lad Simon. Very happy he's sticking around.
