Simon Moore compendium thread

Fine as a third choice but strange to see us offer a 2 year contract after taking such a hard line with not offering deals to more experienced players like Batth, Pritchard, Evans and Gooch.

Also not entirely convinced he hasn't been brought in with the view that Patterson may be sold, and he and Bishop fight it out to be first choice.

O'Nien “I have his shirt in my locker because if I’m not playing, it reminds me to be like him. He is a wonderful human, and he puts that first, and then it’s the footballer. He just has this way of connecting the group, demanding from everyone, and just making sure everyone holds the standard of what this club and this city is. For me, he’ll be the unsung hero of what we’ve done here."

“He won’t get the mural on the side of a wall, but his shirt is there in my locker, and I know that anyone who has ever played with him, if they hear this, they’ll know straight away exactly what I’m talking about. I wouldn’t even need to explain it to them.”

Fair play, a 3rd choice GK could just go through the motions but sounds like he's more like another coach someone we'll not see how much of an effect he has on the team but sounds like he has a big positive effect on the squad.

That’s some compliment coming from O’Nien.

He’s obviously contributing a lot behind the scenes and represents the Club well, so I’m glad he’s happy to stay and if he ends up as part of the staff then great. If you’ll pardon the LinkedIn crack it sounds like more joined-up thinking from the Club.

It's a really great insight into the DNA of the dressing room. It's the kind of stuff most fans will never see or begin to understand, but just goes to show it's about so much more than the first XI week in week out, and a happy, driven dressing room goes a hell of a long way.

I can't remember if it was Mickey Gray, or someone else like that, saying where it went wrong under Reid was a dramatic change in the dynamic of the dressing room. It went from the close knit group that got promoted, to a divided group with cliques.
