The cycle of sacking managers every 5 minutes has got to stop
It hasn't even started. We don't sack managers "every 5 minutes" ffs, why do people keep coming out with this bullshit?
's clear unless a manager makes an amazing start and dares not say anything remotely negative, the fans aren't going to wait and see, let alone try their best to be supportive.
More bullshit. He's not getting criticised for not making "an amazing start", he is being criticised for making an appalling start, just as Moyes did last season.

Good, reasoned post but I disagree with most of it. The squad has no heart and that's no surprise when shirkers like Rodwell and Kone plus out of their depth journeymen like Vaughan, Steele and Matthews are being selected. Graysons squad is awful with a few bits of quality like mcgeady, mcmanaman and watmore when fit. He isn't up to this job although I accept it's a poor situation and you can only fear what decision the footballing know nowts short and bain come up with as a replacement.

They have spirit - we don't-that's why they are better than safc at the minute.

Well surely it's the managers job to instil spirit into his players.

Once I realised what the budget was (which blew my mind btw) I knew things would be a struggle....Grayson has done far better business than I expected and got players in that he has no right to get in on that kind of budget....

Im disappointed they have not gelled faster but not shocked given the injuries we have had and how late we got many of the players (and how late we lost others).

On the flip side I am looking at that squad and it looks pretty solid, it is a squad that I think in time will do really well...For me after several years of struggle and finally relegation was never going to be turned round overnight.....The Mags did it last year by chucking money at it, we sold like they sold but we spent like a league 2 side.

For me, we have made the same mistake time and time and time again....Its time we actually stuck with somebody long enough to see how things play out....Now is as good a time as any as in reality if he goes then we will be looking to league 1 and 2 managers next
Didn't we stick with someone last season? We know how that turned out. I'd honestly love to see examples of teams sticking with managers on the sort of runs we are and the percentage that managed to turn it around to any meaningful point. It's the total and utter collapses that were there in preseason but people chose to ignore that are worrying. He's failing in every aspect of a manager at this moment and if it continues in this sort of vein till say Xmas can we afford to see what sticking with another manager will mean again?.

Oh no, we cant possibly be critical of the fans, despite the fact that them turning on players, particularly at home has for many years been part of the problem...Players are shit scared of playing at the SOL as the boo boys turn on them at the first sign of a mistake......Its gone on for years.......Our fans can be the 12th man, they never shut up against the scum and never turn on the players, ironically we generally have good results against them....On the flip side when things are not going well you can see the players freeze as the groans from the stands meet every missed pass...

While fans can slag off the players as much as they want, they have their own role to play and to spout the bollox that "we pay are money so its ok to boo"......Well you are actually right but if that is what you choose to do then like fuck should you complain when those players are shit scared of playing at home and we struggle even more.

When a club is struggling like we are then EVERYBODY in the club needs to look at how they can improve things and where they might be playing a part in the struggle......Sadly fans seem to like to blame everybody else but if you suggest for one nano second they are part of the problem then all hell is unleashed.

Sorry like and I will get pelters for this but our fans are part of the problem, something that is a choice cause on their day they can be the difference between winning and losing.
Professional footballers scared of playing at home, they have a very nice lifestyle, they should be professional enough to get on with it.

You could say can we afford to stick with him?

The St. Johnston game was the real wake up call for me, my concerns were simply reinforced by the Celtic debacle. The flaws exposed in those two games were proof that we had boobed again, the defending was pathetic, the attacking even worse, he has had a good few games to put that right but he has failed. Suicide to give him any longer.

So now that we’ve all calmed down, all fans, it’s going to be mad tomorrow slagging off the players, Short, Bain and now Grayson.

Add to that the yellow weather warning where it might be pissing down at Preston and reports suggest the first two rows at the away end are prone to drownings:eek: so glad I’m in the shallow end in row 4 @Botchie
Nee moaning about the persistent standing in front of you there mind.

I said they were part of the problem, do you think it is a coincidence that our home record has been so bad for the last few years? Our players both new and old are terrified of playing at home, is that because its not a nice ground or something, its the fans and if you cant see that you need help.

As for insults you might want to look through the posts, I think you were chucking them out first were you not or is "patronising little cock" not an insult.

You are like one of those people who go to marriage guidance counselling and will not accept that actually that there is fault on all sides....Till you do you will not solve the problems but you are so pig headed you would rather get divorced.
Bloody hell.

The Sunderland fans at the Stadium of Light are the reason we're so poor at home?

That's that sorted then. Roll on December when we want the next fella out.

You'll regret getting dragged into a "debate" with @Bagpuss mind...

I'm waiting to see if he posts that he now realises he made a mistake in continuously attributing comments to me that I hadn't said. Somehow I doubt he will.

He doesn't actually listen/read what you're saying, but just wades in with patronising digs. We've all had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of meeting these types in a pub.

Quite entertaining mind  His superiority complex is rather impressive

Who said it is all the fans, I am saying that the fans are part of the problem, particularly at home, if you cant see this then yes you are a big part of the problem.

Arsenal have traditionally been known to have amongst the worst fans at home, with regards to noise and moaning. Why arent they struggling against relegation?

Yes and he is failing miserably. Did you miss the part where I said I didn't think he was up to this job like?
Agree with everything you said was just pointing out that was his job (which he is failing miserably at).

Of course there is, but if you're discussing it on here I'd guess it's one of your major concerns.
I'm not discussing it, I'm commenting on other people's meltdowns over his comments

Are you paid by the club or something? You were on here spouting similar shite last season.
Are you thick or something or do you just say the same shite as everyone else. Why would I agree that we will be in league 1 10 games into a season !!!!

Captain tomorrow? Would not surprise me.

Anyway do you attend? I don't, but can read this situation like the Beano.
Cattermole will be captain, yes I have season ticket, get to about to a few away games

Haway. He didn't fancy it.
No he was ill

Just watched his press conference, he sounds a bit simple like, almost let it slip that the lads are on for a well deserved break, just to get away from the place, so I'm expecting a New York effect and see us going on a run.

Ah, so everyone else is saying it.

If you think I say the same as everyone else then you're probably best logging off and not coming back.
