Simon Adingra 🇨🇮 Signed!

Was told last night when I mentioned on the Watson thread he sadly won’t be a Sunderland player on Tuesday. No info, just my opinion is the lad they have recalled from Leicester could end up signing for us tonight on loan. Really disappointed we are losing Watson on the recent back of losing Clarke!!
Is Bounanotte not a 10? We really don't need him if he is.

Mad that some people think the only expenditure of a football club is transfer fees like.
Exactly. As if the electricity is free + general repairs to SOL, AOL and ticket office.

You's do realise when we sell a player for ÂŁ15m. The money doesn't come as one big cheque where you can spent it immediately on electric etc.

If the club needs the transfer profits to pay for the electric then they deserve criticism. It's not a way to move forward.

All transfer money should be spent on the player side only whether that's loan fees, agent fees, academy players or what not. Not infrastructure and electric bills.
I think some people also genuinely think that if you're promoted from the championship, you instantly get ÂŁ100 million in the bank....it literally doesn't work like that!!

You also don't spend ÂŁ20m instantly when you buy a ÂŁ20m player either though...?

It comes as one big cheque if the deal is structured that way.

im surprised no one has heard of loans and collateral

Just seen a man utd fan say they were quoted 70m for this lad and Ferguson not that long ago, can't say I've ever seen him play but have seen his name pop up on highlights, be surprised if it happens

Imagine being told just today you're being used as leverage for a transfer to another team 🤣
Off topic here but can you imagine the carnage of being a player with a young family on deadline day. I was listening to Peter Crouch talking about when he signed for Stoke from Spurs. Levy called him into the office the day before deadline to say they were accepting bids for him and he needs to leave before the deadline as they needed the money to sign Adebayor. Crouch refused and said he'd be in as normal in the morning. So Levy and the manager at the time sat him down and said he wouldn't kick a ball for Spurs again - so he had to call his wife to say he's travelling up to Stoke to sign.

They then had the trouble of finding somewhere to live, moving the kids school etc.

I think Will Grigg said he'd gone to bed and then his phone rang to say we'd agreed a fee and he had to go now

I bet some clubs do a factoring type thing though where they get the majority of it up front (if such a facility exists for transactions this big).
