I posted similar over the road and the accountant over there says £9 mill

I'm going dizzy counting zeroes; it does indeed look like £10m authorised and £9m issued. This wouldn't be the first time they'd fucked up a filing. In any event, the point remains that this is not reinvestment. It's a restructuring of the balance sheet to reduce the share capital and cancel the share premium account. The effect of this will be to clear the accumulated deficit in retained earnings.

I'd have said so. This frugal mentality and talk of sustainability is all very nice and fanciful, but money talks.
man city talk of sustainability as well..their money talks...suatainability just means not relying on a benefactor,,but having iststable..
The story changes quite often as is often the case with sales people SD and PR people CM. I am not sure either of them know the complete truth, lets just hope we can move up the table because academy and recruitment means fuck all now at least until January and even then that's not the recruitment they are alluding to...
it probably chagned because events changed..i mean the americans might have wanted a different thing...
And we are f***ing skint. Or were until recently. Even now ten mil, if that’s what it is isn’t big money by today’s standards.
it is in league one..its massive..you could buy entire clubs in this league for that..

Man City spent/d a lot of money to be as sustainable as they are.

thanks for that. if they clear the accumulated deficit in etained earnings..does that mean, at least theoritcally, that dividends can be paid in future?

yes they did..but they spent a lot of it on things that make them sustainable..not just o players for the first team..but on improving commercial operations to bring money in..scotuing etc..which is what safcare doing..

They turned out to be hollow words because we had a load of large salary players that were not performing in any sense compared to the amount they were being paid. I'd assume Donald thought they'd try and earn their salary.

I think it was telling that he just used the word budget instead of 'war best' or specifically 'transfer budget' as it was clearly a way of sort of deflecting the question
but the idea behind it still is completely valid. The players let us down at the end of the day. Their large salaries hamstrung the club and limited what could be done.
Exacty!

I don't know what that means, but it sounds positive for the Club.

Can you explain that in simpleton terms marra. Like you have 10 mars bars, give 2 away and someone else gives you 5 drifters which are worth more than a mars bar because they have two fingers. So you now have 18 mars bars?

Theoretically, but you'd need to be making profits for that. Of course, if, say, preference shares were to be created at some point, you'd need retained earnings to pay the coupon on them as well.

I’m not knocking it, not by any means. More reflecting on some posts about us spending money that prior to yesterday we didn’t have in the amounts required to get us back into the premier league in two seasons.
