Sibley

Regardless of whether anyone thinks it’s a punt or not, he’s scored as many tons this year as Buttler has in his career

He deserves a call up

I’m not sure why you feel the need to Mention Buttler in this thread? Totally unneeded and irrelevant, getting tedious and that says something coming from me!

Buttler spent majority of his career batter number 7

Just stick to sibley and compare him to other openers we’ve tried

Absolutely deserves a call up

Although you can understand why as it’s a strong 12 months from nowhere like Jennings

None of us watch him play got to trust the selectors

Comparing specialist batsmen to each other.

I like this a lot. Jennings wasn't this composed for us. Albeit Hameed being on this list makes it look a bit of an irrelevance.

That Hasan Hazad just starting to get mentioned by a few stat types, apparently a late comer to cricket.
Roy opening was a mistake, that's pretty much accepted. He's not an opener.

Literally no idea why you are telling me this.

Do you think we should be comparing him toour number 7 Jos buttler? Or the bloke he could be replacing in the test team as an opener?

I know ive been reticent about Sibley not wanting England to get sucked into picking the next opener that shows a bit of form. However the more I read and hear experts speak about him it seems he has a really good chance. Good luck to him.

Buttler has averaged 39 since getting back into the side playing against the best bowling attacks in the world in mainly very trying conditions. Over that period of time he has outperformed just about all of his peers. If Sibley does as well as that I will be well pleased.
