Short Is Failing Us

Supporters of SAFC should be really worried right now.
It's almost certain we will be relegated this season, as we are the worst team in the league.
short is all about the premier league and I just cannot see him sticking around should things go as expected remainder of this season.
so how will he get out with as much of his money back as possible?
He could sell our best players, maybe claw back 40 million, then sell up (assuming he can find a buyer)
What are the clubs debts as things stand?
and how would they be serviced should short walk away?
This is why appointing Kevin Ball makes a lot of sense. Ball will stick around no matter what. If the money goes, even if we go into administration at some stage I'd back ball to look after the interests of the club, bring on the young players and hopefully make sure we don't fall through the championship into league 1 which really would be a disaster.
The running of SAFC appears to be some sort of horrible hybrid taken from the owners of QPR and Wolverhampton Wanderers - how we laughed as they got it so spectacularly wrong, and now look at us.

Good post mate. A lot better than most of your wind-up efforts

Haway man stop winding yourself up : you'll have a fit man !

To sell the club in the championship he'd have to write off the vast majority of his investments/ our debts . If we went into admin he'd have lost everything and there'd be no shortage of investors wanting to pick us up for next to nothing and debt free.
Whatever we think about Ellis the lad is not short of cash but like Ashley before him he might well feel he's ploughed too much of it into what was no doubt supposed to a little vanity project. If we did go down, again like Ashley, his options would be to bankroll us back to the premier or lose it all.
erm as the clubs "debts" are owed to him as equity we cant go into administration............[DOUBLEPOST=1381098570][/DOUBLEPOST]
might be an honourable way out for Ellis and could well be what he's working towards but it's fairly obvious we can't field a premiership side on the gate money alone
name me a PL side who can...............

If he doesn't appoint a good manager/head coach then I think it's time for him to call it a day and get out.

He's sold Mignolet and Sessegnon and failed to replace them.

We needed more quality and we've brought in bargain basement players.

There is no communication and there appears to be no direction. Commercially we may be doing well but that will count for very little if we are relegated which is looking inevitable.

Very disappointing.

don't be so god damn nieve. "There appears to be no direction" . People like Ellis short eat sleep and breath running boards and getting businesses out the shit. The last thing he's thinking about is letting all the fans know exactly what's happening man.

I'm backing Ellis Short and the board to pull off masterstoke of an appointment. Because that's what they do!

You're being naive. People can say it's a business, which it is but in order to run this business successfully you need to have a good team. He's failed us massively in that department.

:lol::lol::lol:

If he sells us on the cheap in the Championship someone git rich might see potential and buy into us. Happened with Cardiff/Southampton.
According to some on here, he'll never do that as he's only concerned with money.[DOUBLEPOST=1381109393][/DOUBLEPOST]
cant believe he fell for Di Fanti's crap of "yeah Ellis i can slash the wage bill massively, bring in loads of cheap hungry foreigners and we will finish top 10".

Unreal how naive he is.
Seriously, where do people get the idea he's slashed the wage bill?

I post the same thing every day and still people say things like this. I don't understand how selling Mignolet, who was on nowt, letting Bramble and Kilgallon leave and selling Sessegnon on deadline day after he's been done for drink driving and pissed off Di Canio can compare in any way to signing 14 players. Do you not see that?[DOUBLEPOST=1381109533][/DOUBLEPOST]

He's backed us. The one mistake, that many (not me) saw coming was hiring Di Canio. But even that kept us up. O'Neill was a natural choice and there was no way to know it would go the way it did with him.

It's the people like Bruce who failed us and wasted the backing given by Short.[DOUBLEPOST=1381109760][/DOUBLEPOST]PS Short didn't sell anybody. The club sold Mignolet and Di Canio asked the club to accept the bid from West Brom after the drink driving thing.

I'm all for wishing we'd replace players with equal or better quality. But Sessegnon left on deadline day, you can't do that kind of business, even if De Fanti had targets in mind, in that space of time. Which is why they brought Ki and Borini in on loan. I'd rather have Ki than Vaughan or whoever the options are.
