Tried to call the First Team game v Brandon off this morning despite the pitch being fine. Brandon said they'd travel and when they arrived the umpires indicated the pitch was very playable and a start could have been made if Shildon had turned up...... Now if the rules are followed Brandon should be awarded 20 points. Which could be a big factor seeing how most other sides won't have got a result today!

It's because they are frightened to play us. Set of pussys

No because they will all be hidding under the kitchen table as Brandon have been in town

Cheeky twat. To be fair, I didn't didn't think the pitch was playable in my opinion but the players weren't arsed knowing that it would be raining all afternoon (which it has been here) so they decided not to turn up. Hopefully common sense will prevail.

Common sense being what in your opinion?? Because at 1.30pm it wasn't raining and the umpires were happy with the condition of the pitch. Carl Macgregor turned up and admitted it was fine to play...... Granted we may only have got 15 minutes play, but as soon as the game starts any non-result is called a DRAW and 5 points are awarded to each team. Whereas an ABANDONMENT only brings 3 points. It wouldn't be fair on Brandon if they miss out on points because your lot bottled it. After all, Brandon and the umpires were ready to play.

Shildon failed to show up therefore forfeiting the game surely?

Perhaps you need to have a look at the rule book too, the game wouldn't have been called of at 2pm, as the cut off is 3.30pm.

i thought you were a fan . Thats your tracksuit and cap going back to the suppliers

Have to say Brandon should have done the sensible thing and called the game off as play was never going to be complete with the weather we had yesterday.

You can say they should have turned up but its lads weekends and most people want to enjoy them instead of travelling around and waiting for the inevitable postponment of the match.
