Sheff Wed - financial issues

Horrible situation, but I’m fully of the belief that football is cyclical.

Even if the very very worst happened and they went bust, their fanbase is massive and they’d fly back up the leagues again eventually. And their fans, who will of course stick by the club, would get some unreal days tearing teams up and taking the piss.

But luckily, with the size of them, it’s far more likely that if/when their own is forced to sell then there will be a good owner who sees it as a good opportunity to take over a huge club at a cut price. Seen it loads recently with teams.

Looking on Transfermarkt and due to not being able to offer new contracts and selling anyone decent, they currently only have a squad of 10 players

So in the past few days.

Sold our two most promising players for about 2 million, Gassama and Musaba, Rohl returned and now wants out again, Windass and Smith leave by mutual consent and apparently the North Stand is about to be closed!!

😂

The thing is football is broken, it’s pretty much not sustainable outside of the premier league but the big clubs won’t allow football to be fully regulated because it doesn’t suit the top lot. I mean if it were don’t think Chelsea would’ve gotten away with the creative stuff they e done the past few years 😂 selling the women’s side for £200m etc. it’s going one way and we will see many more burys in the future. However players have also brought it on themselves let’s be honest the biggest cost in football is player wages we’ve went from the top stars getting good wages to now bang average players making ten times the average fans weekly wage even at championship level. It can’t go on much longer and with the premier league trying to make it a closed shop I fear the pyramid as it is won’t be the same in 20 years.
The Premier League trying to make it a closed shop……? As we used to be told at school “shoe your working out” please.

Awful that this is happening to your club. We weren't too far away from being in the same situation 7 years ago (and we had just been relegated too), hopefully you can find a buyer and bounce back too.

It’s mad when I watched that Burnley doc and the Americans didn’t know they could be relegated. This wasn’t pre takeover this was them in the building having bought in. That’s insane man, just because American has a monopoly on their sports they must assume the rest of the world works in the same way. Agree they will love it if relegation is taken off the table. I was listening to a football podcast and they brought up that it only takes 14 of the 20 clubs to vote on new rules and Americans either own or have massive shares in 12 clubs. I’m hoping the government would block any shit like that it’s anti competition for example but you never know with these governments.
Givower.

These are totally totally fucked like.

When we were looking fucked, we struggled for a buyer, and you were getting an almost 50k seater stadium with a fantastic academy and training facilities
