Sheff Wed - financial issues

Danny Rohl leaving apparently as are a number of players over non payment of wages. Sad to see.
Rohl has been leaving since January so that blow has kind of healed....and to be fair, it's the least of our problems.

In other news, Man city have just earned near on 40 million for getting to the last 16 of the world club cup.

I’m sure they still don’t have pre season games lined up but could be wrong? Surely everyone else is sorted so it’ll be hard to get organised.

Hard to see anything other than them going down this season. Gutted for them as they’re a brilliant fan base as well

Correct, no pre season games arranged.
@Visiting owl what's the situation with the training ground and North Stand , has there been any resolution on them ?
No one really knows what's going on with the training ground although work has been going on there apparently. Regards the North stand it's common knowledge some requirements are needed so it's anyone's guess if this will be functional come August or even allowed to open...... I am sure it will.

Hopefully someone picks you up mate. I was having a read of Owls Talk last night and seen some mention that some of your more desirable players like Gassama have been paid to avoid them being able to leave but not sure if that’s just made up shite or legit.

It makes sense that our assets have been paid, I believe this to be true.

If he's paying the assets he thinks he can sell while not paying the admin I'm guessing it's the beginning of the end for him.
Which is hopefully good news because to do that he must be an absolute shambles of a human being.
Completely agree.

Footballers on a fortune should have enough money, and we'll enough managed, that they can survive not being paid for a month or two at least.

The day-to-day staff are the ones who will be more likely to be living month-to-month and need to be paid first.

Get your point mate, and take it on board, that has angered owls fans immesnsely, but you should as an institution, as a supposed "Proper" football club, honour your commitments,
Wednesday are no longer a "Proper" Football club...The fans are "Proper" The Staff who haven't been paid are "Proper"....One bloody individual is responsible for ALL this...but sadly, The EFL seem to think him "Proper"..When even fans as far removed from it as you (Yous) lads and lasses know damn well, Chansiri does not even approach it.
Still I ended up rowing in a boozer on Sunday with a bloke who whittered on about Chansiri putting "Millions" into SWFC...So I simply asked him....
"Doesn't that make him an even bigger bloody idiot"?...

We can't pay the lass at reception ffs!

Hopefully the stand will be open, I suppose even if training ground isnt ready , alternatives can be sought temporarily, St George's Park not too far away is it?

On the positive side...I've followed The Wednesday since the '60's, had a season ticket since the 70's , I;m now 67, and as a kid I dreamed of pulling the blue and white stripes on, as it happens I was only ever good enough for me school, and drifted into The Sheffield Nomads Sunday league..lowerd divisions....@Visiting Owl will tell you what that level is like...Its a cross between rugby and fighting in West St pub..but....for the very first time since I was 7yrs old

I think I might get a game!!!

I really worry for yous now like. I can't see yous starting the season and if you do I imagine every team will just have their way with you. Obviously priority is having staff actually paid!!

I can see why betting companies are holding off offering odds on relegation. They’re usually out by now but aren’t in the championship.

They’re keeping an eye on Sheff Wed situation obviously, but looks like they’ll be odds on. :(

Surely theres a law against that bit mate ? :)
But yeah...spot on.....I am convinced we are gonna be bending over every week....The Grandkids are convinced some Yank on a white horse is charging in to save us...but as I told 'em the other week
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him

Maybe I shouldn't have...

I hate what’s happening to Wednesday who id prob have down as my ‘second club’ (if forced to choose one, before anyone starts).

I thought Chansiri was just a big fat ego, picking fights with the fans so he could play Billy big bollocks, shouting ‘I’m in charge’ at every available opportunity - but it’s clear the owls fans saw thru him.

He’s a chancer & the noise he’s made on social media (anyone see him arguing with fans on LinkedIn?) was just deflecting from the fact he’s absolutely out of his depth.

It looks like even the family have distanced themselves from him & in Thai culture that’s a big thing in itself.

It seems a question of him needing to be forced out before he does anymore damage… tho the brainless bozo might yet realise that selling to one of the interested parties gives him a get out clause & prob saves him money in the long run.

Shamefully it appears he wants upwards of £100m for a club that Kieran Maguire believes is worth less than £40m (and doesn’t own their own ground).

Wednesday fans - please put me right if I’m mistaken on any of the above.

Nah mate...you are spot on.....I called this years ago and got dogs abuse, when he raised the prices, when he bought the ground...I now get slated for buying a season ticket from him.
I don't support him...I follow a club I've followed for 60 years...he's sodding peripheral ....Sheffield Wednesday football club are ...at the moment...are worth jacksh*t....unless you are some mad historian philanthropist with ever so deep pockets...
Who's gonna pay £100 million, when the clubs heading for admin and you can buy it for net to nowt in a fortnight?
