interesting decision by Windies, can understand why.

Game on.
Archer is a bit of a silly Billy. I wonder how we will fare without him.

They won in South Africa without him like. I am not too bothered he isn't playing, but not having Wood and Anderson play is a blow.

What he did, go back to his flat by sounds of it?

He is a bit dozy like, can see why he might be tricky to manage

Went back to Brighton instead of straight to OT. Not a massive deal by the sounds of it, but the bowling attack looks a bit lacking without him and anderson. Glad Broad is back in but we could really do with an Anderson or Wood type bowler as well.

I think the point is he lives with other people though, so if you are spending millions on a covid bubble, its pretty stupid to go mixing with others

Be players who wont see their kids in months, its fairly selfish IMO if you consider the sacrifices some players and especially the Windies are making.

Anyway, hope that aint dominating the test match, back to the cricket!
I get the feeling we will always be talking about Jofra Archer, in the same way we were always talking about Kevin Pietersen.
I'm not totally convinced Archer is in love with Test Cricket and do wonder whether his move to England (aged 20) was more about raising his profile in the game and making him more attractive to franchise cricket

Can't remember who said it, but there was a South African interviewed during the recent series who laughed when someone suggested Kevin Pietersen was English - the quote was something along the lines of "he was only ever "English" when he wanted to play Test Cricket. He's South African again now...."

Thats nonsense and really really unfair.

Indeed. Woakes, Broad and curran are all dangerous bowlers but it would be nice to see a bit more pace in the mix.

If the conditions stay like this though, perhaps it won't matter as they won't be able to make the pace count anyway. Looking forward to this one.

I think its exactly the same forecast as last test no? baking hot over the weekend?

Always happy to bat first like, I think iwe will struggle today though

its an opinion. Which I am entitled to.

Its a lazy opinion, what evidence have you got that he doesn't like test cricket?

He cried in the warm up of cape town when his elbow injury came back up?

He bowled an absolutely outrageous amount of overs in England and then NZ and broke down because of it.

This bloke is desperate to play for England and changed his whole life to make that happen.

Really unfair and just not remotely true.

He was earning big bucks in the IPL before he even played for England btw.
4 changes is ridicuous mind

I cant help thing this bowling rotation thing is all wrong.

Bowlers need overs and games, and the team needs to win games.

Seem to be testing out things for a series thats 18 months away. I don't get it.
