I've just got another email asking me if I want to sign up to the list there still pushing it. I wonder how manys on the list now.
This mind set of assuming we'll fail is like a city wide chip on people's shoulders. You need a decade of demand before you do anything about it imo, not 10 games. We've seen it all before, look how ridiculous it's looked when went down after the last extension.
For years i didn't sit in my seat in u13, I stood with the lads further along. I will assume these are the same, thats the closest to the south they could get so just got it anyway?
Priority for the extension!Me too
And why are they doing this when there are thousands on the list that wont get tickets?
To possibly gauge what demand is? Not everyone who signs up to the waiting list would buy a ticket but if 20,000+ signed up then the club know there's demand there. If just 5,000 did then it's probably better they just increase prices rather than look to extend in coming seasons.Me too
And why are they doing this when there are thousands on the list that wont get tickets?
Having that mindset means we'd end up with constant price rises, all while losing out on millions from the potential of £1,000s more in corporate. If we got relegated then you'd also like to think we'd bounce back given the higher revenue. This mind set of assuming we'll fail is like a city wide chip on people's shoulders.
I'd rather have the entire stadium extended than worry about what it looks like IF we go back to league 1.

I'm sure the club could put in place a system to cater for that, e.g. better official resale.I think they have to be careful with over-extending too as that can even reduce demand.
Take my own case, living away I know I won't get to all of the games and over recent years a season ticket has made no sense to me financially as it works out cheaper just to pay for the games that I can attend. This season though that has changed for the first time ever. It still makes no financial sense, but it is getting hard to guarantee matchday tickets as the demand is so high, and when I do I end up sitting on my own in different parts of the stadium. Having a season ticket is also effectively the only way to get to away games which I love going to. If there were more matchday tickets available I wouldn't bother.
Result is I am now seriously considering a ST for next year - I still won't get to all of the games so there will likely be an empty seat sometimes, but at least I will be guaranteed to get to the games I can get too - also the bonus that I can slowly start to build up some points for away matches again.
I would be surprised if there are not quite a lot of people with similar circumstances.
We dont need an extension though, theres nothing to suggest we do. Just being realisticThis mind set of assuming we'll fail is like a city wide chip on people's shoulders.

Well if history tells us anything about this, it is that SAFC will always bounce back, and that extension you refer to was without question the right thing to do, even though at the time we didn't have your decade of demand to point to. However many empty seats we had during the dark days (I'd rather we count the actual attendance figures than the empty seats, and they were nothing short of fantastic), was it not worth 'looking ridiculous' (which IMO we never did) for the benefit of having a larger stadium over the long term, which we are now reaping the rewards from and will continue to do so in future? We're in the same position now as the club was then in needing to grow, only the rationale is far stronger, given the importance of maximising revenues under new financial rules. You need a decade of demand before you do anything about it imo, not 10 games. Financially, we very much do need it. And we have thousands of fans who can't get tickets also, apart from anything else.We dont need an extension though, theres nothing to suggest we do. Just being realistic
I’m gonna do exactly the same, but I also imagine the clubs going to do the same as other clubs and ban you for the following seasons if you don’t use the SC for the majority of the gamesI think they have to be careful with over-extending too as that can even reduce demand.

To be fair those clubs almost always say you'd only lose your season ticket if you don't attend and don't list it on resale. So it's easy not to fall foul of it. And if it doesn't sell that's not your problem, you've done what you needed to doI’m gonna do exactly the same, but I also imagine the clubs going to do the same as other clubs and ban you for the following seasons if you don’t use the SC for the majority of the games
Yeah, I wonder if something like a membership scheme that you pay for but get priority for ticket applications and a discount on them (so if you go to enough games it covers the cost) would work, but that is probably getting far to complex!
I think those clubs (Liverpool, Man U etc.) ban you, if you list it on resale platforms too much as well tbf.To be fair those clubs almost always say you'd only lose your season ticket if you don't attend and don't list it on resale. In terms of extending the ground I'd be fine with it if the club think it's worth it. Yes we'd have empty seats, but only sad sacks on social media care about what % of your seats are filled. If they think the cost is worth it due to the additional hospitality they can get in there, if it makes the stadium more valuable for other events (although extending the south might not help for concerts since that's where the stage goes, but might be other events), then it might be worth the cost even if we rarely get near capacity. And then it's there if we ever need it. From KLDs perspective it also makes the club more valuable if he chooses to sell. People buying into a club with 60,000 capacity or whatever so, if the cost is reasonable, it's probably worth doing anyway
Just had a look, man united definitely don't:Everton have similar I think - but it's a massive rip off, because everyone gets it so you're essentially not getting a priority (and you're just giving the club £40 for nowt).

There's only 17 tickets left for the next home game which is over two week away.We dont need an extension though, theres nothing to suggest we do. Just being realistic
