Improved lot - used to be a lot of beached whales there when I was a kid -














maybe the lasses have slimmed down now though.
All the lasses i had were slim. :cool:

The ww1 statue at the sea front still leaves me in awe at how good it looks.

The relatively unknown " sugar sands" in Northumberland are my favourite.Dont forget to pay the farmer the ten bob( 50 p to the young uns!)in the honesty box on the way down.Magical place.Mind so are many beaches in the north eaat.
Well worth a look if you are ever in Northumberland..

Fished from a load of them up there, you can take your pick, they are all fantastic. Blyth, Druridge, Warkworth, Embleton, Newton, Beadnell just to name a few.
 
I am from Seaham and I live away now. The beach is greatly improved from when I was a lad in 1538.

Northumberland - is the best secret that we as North-easterners have. Don't tell anybody, deny all knowledge, anyone ask about it sent them to Cumberland. Sssshhhhh...
