I wouldn’t be surprised if the 6% is purely to keep sartoris options open and not wanting Fuhrman to have 75%+ and then essentially total control

The only bonuses which don't count towards the cap are those related to progression in cup competitions or promotion. The cap includes basic, bonuses, benefits in kind, expenses, employers NI, and the real killer, agents fees.

He's openly said he's going to have a role in recruitment strategy. Being non-exec for a company like Sunderland just means you aren't involved in the day to day running. The director bit is more important than the non-exec bit.
