Bruce set the whole thing in motion and O'Neill would have taken us down imo. Maybe it wouldnt have ended quite as badly but our finances were fucked for years thanks to Bruce's 2011 window and we'd have struggled in the championship. More crucially perhaps if relegation came earlier then maybe short wouldnt have cut his ties so quickly and tried to right the wrongs.

By the time Poyet was there the Alvarez scenario was in full swing. I think he would have taken us down and that could have ended the same way as our last championship season for sure.At least Poyet did give us some kind of identity and had a long term plan. I just think that by then the books were absolutely buggered and thats been the biggest issue in our late tenure under short.
Nailed it
All these arguments about prawn marie rose sauce are leading me to think that Keano's on his way back to the club...

It's happening. 😎
You scalliwag you

Fair enough, last time I’ll post anything about it

To be fair what he's said to you doesn't sound in any way confidential. If he was leaking information about a takeover then aye, screenshots would be inappropriate, but a random comment saying nothing imminent wouldn't really break a confidence by sharing it. Still, thats obviously up to you, cheers for sharing what's been said anyway. I know a few people added him on Facebook and he occasionally replies to messages so wouldn't surprise me. I'm just hoping that he's denying everything whilst things progress on the background after last time being far too public but who knows!

Oh absolutely. However, on paper he's exactly what we should be signing (age, position, reputation etc). In that respect, at least, he's a departure from virtually any of our signings in the Donald era to date. Watch him be garbage now:lol:
I've said before but even if he fails to adapt and ultimately flunks, what it signifies is what's to be celebrated. Finally a bit of smart recruitment!

Watch us finally revolutionise and modernise our recruitment model only for a takeover to happen, it all get ripped up and return to the antiquated systems we had before (Storey with his five Prem players!).

"Aware of Xhemajli’s Instagram pic at what appears to be Newcastle. Was told late last week that the deal was dead. Not sure if he’s arriving in this pic and something has changed and it’s back on, or if he’s just leaving to go elsewhere.

trying to get an answer. "

Would be a bit weird if he was only just leaving now if the deal was dead last week surely? Unless he fancied a few days at Seaburn.

Did they go to the same lengths as they did with us with those clubs? It does seem quite clear they intended to takeover then for whatever reason that became a loan.

It's pretty much the exact same terms. I don't think they have much intention of converting these or any loans to shares, I think there's a distinct and growing possibility that they (MSD) have seen the easiest and most risk-free way to make money from football is to lend money to desperate owners who need relief.

Whether Furhman is willing to go against the decision they made as FPP last September I do not know, but I think the existing loan is slightly irrelevant as it stands because it looks a lot like any deal will be a 'new' deal if anyone from that original FPP bid wants to do more.

what is the point in all this speculating? why am i reading this ?

 'cos you're a totally passionate Sunderland supporter who's desperately hoping for some good news to alleviate the long suffering pain, which,in recent years, has blighted your life.
Clutching at any straws,no matter how unlikely, is what we've been reduced to.
Rest assured.....you are not alone!!
