I'm not saying you are but last week everyone was calling him a fantasist freak not to be trusted.

Since he went on the radio and said he has people with lots of money there's an increasing number of people now wanting him involved.

There's someone on here today passing off public record court cases agaisnt him (that hes lost) as 'hearsay' and backing him because of 'the sort of people he has behind him' despite admitting they have no idea who, if anyone, is behind him. It's mental.
Aye you can’t argue he’s a fantasist there’s too much smoke with him to be no fire as well. I’ve no confidence that he’s legit and am sure he doesn’t have the backing in which case he’ll go away soon. Was still an entertaining interview though!

You'd be surprised.

So he's signed an NDA to not say who they are yet you know?.....thats convenient with you being a Sunderland fan and all.

Just say if you know who it is or stop coming out with little bits of ITK shit mate. Like the many who've done it before, it just makes you look like a bit of a cock wanting looking for attention.

I think its pretty clear he wasn't getting any attention from the club previously so he's came up on a charm offensive. Rodwell probably met him in an effort to tell him to follow procedures and keep quiet, like they have with the other bidder.

Fact is, his bid hasnt been accepted, whilst the other party's bid has.

Two excellent posts.

I don’t think that’s fact at all. There’s nothing to say another party’s bid has been accepted.

He doesn't have any. Never has, never will.

Nee way anyone serious is getting involved with that fantasist.
Just came up here for an ice cream down Roker then and swan around with his Sunderland top on? Haway man, even I was sceptical but you can't believe there is nowt in it surely.

There’s nowt wrong with having hope but I’m surprised so many seem to be clinging on to his every word and getting carried away thinking this will be a good thing and he’ll be a good owner.

As a fanbase we fell for exactly the same with Donald, if it is him taking over a bit of caution and scepticism is the approach I’ll be taking and will judge him solely on his running of the club same as I did with Donald. For what it’s worth I think he’s going on like a knacker on Twitter to be honest and isn’t what I want to see or hear from my club’s potential new owner.

He and prehab have both posted similar stuff without realising what the other is posted so I suspect he’s definitely got an insight. Very defensive though for some reason.

I have no idea. He is suggesting strongly that he has 4 serious backers which the club know the identity, hence the club entertaining the bid. If he does have those people what would you say/think? The bloke seems an utter fantasist but simply has to have people with money behind him or the club would not talk to him.
Agree. Until we know who is backers are its hard to comment. Similar with the other bid if there is one.

If Mr Storey is not successful we may never know.

I just don't know why people are trying to justify his credibility because of the sort of people he has behind him when they have no idea what sort of people, if any, are behind him.

The bloke seems to be a complete laughing stock with a history of duboius detrimental deals and legal cases against him. He appears to have a company selling an energy drink that he claims to be worth 100 million but the website for the drink only sells hoodies and caps and the drink isn't available in any shop in the country. There does seem to be some being sold on Amazon now (there wasnt a few weeks ago) but thats enough to generate £100 million? Is it a front?

He's now rocked up at the stadium, paraded around town in a Sunderland shirt and met Rodell in a prevalent pub on the seafront to apparently discuss a deal after mocking everuone associated with the club publicly. I can't remember the club holding club sale talks in a pub prior to yesterday (were FPP doing their deal in a pub?) nor would I expect someone to bypass the owner of the football club next to where they live to discuss a takeover with an employee 100s of miles away. And then the club is reportedly already in a period of exclusivity with another party so making sure you are photographed liasing with another buyer in a pub in town hardly seems feesable.

But he said nice things on the radio like Stavely did.
Good post marra, however FPP met the club in a well known Italian in Cleadon

I agree. The twitter thing is definitely a red flag before you even get into what he posts on it.

They did indeed. Good memory

I believe the bid is genuine, just don't believe he's got the finances or that it would end well if he was successful.

He genuinely sponsored an F1 team without any money mate. He's happy to bluff his way through life it seems, with little actual cash and an energy drink that no-one has actually seen on shelves

They are in a period of exclusivity, that wouldn't be happening if their bid wasn't to Donalds liking. Storey's bid isn't at that stage and might never be if everything goes well with the other party.

How do you know it wouldn't be?

This is a big issue we have currently, people are judged before even being given a chance!

His backers, and therefore the majority shareholders, could be amazing! These sort of people won't just cosy up with anyone, so he just have something to offer.
No, the big issue we have currently is being owned by a charlatan who promised the world and loads of finance with his wealthy backers but have turned out to be absolute chancers. I wonder why I'm concerned about this bloke?

That’s different to a bid being accepted though. Donald was in the period of exclusivity with short well before the deal was agreed

I was sceptical of him at first, I agree he acts like a knacker but with him holding talks with the club he proved me wrong, has to be something in it. He sounds just like Donald, saying all the right things but we have to give them a chance, whoever comes in otherwise other potential buyers will be put off. I'm sure he knows himself if he doesn't get it right first time the fans will be on his back the same way they are with Donald. Will give him a chance though, I hope he proves alot of people wrong for everyones sake.

Forgetting who currently owns us. We need to give new people a chance, IMO of course...

Lets just clear this up a little. He hasn't and it's more of his standard speale (as a judge previously stated was in his character to do) to promise the world without any real way of backing it up. He was still asking people to back him two weeks ago.
Bit worrying when he's said in the radio interview he had his backers in place 5 months ago and has been working on the plans, costings, vision since then
