Confirmed today. What a fantastic achievement, what a fantastic season so far. This time last year you couldn’t have believed the run we’ve had.
9 points to play for, if we manage to for 50 points it’ll be unbelievable.
The players and more so the manager deserve an huge amount of credit
No matter what happens this summer, they’ve done us proud this season.

Gone before next season iircLe Bris out!
If our definition of a slump is 19 points from 17 games, I'll be happy. It’s hard to keep perspective after the amazing start and slump since January, but it’s important we keep reflecting back on this. Truth is most of us would have taken relegation with a half decent points haul and a single derby win back in June last year. To stay up comfortably, beat Chelsea away, play Liverpool off the pitch at Anfield, draw against an unreal Arsenal side at the time, draw at home to city and to beat that lot twice is an exceptional season no matter how you cut it.
There’s three very poor teams coming up - Ipswich wouldn’t have even finished above us with that points haul last season and whoever comes up from the playoffs isn’t well set at all financially or ownership wise. That’s a great chance to stabilise ourselves in the PL for at least a third season and to build a proper quality gap between us and the bottom of the league, whoever that may be. We have to look to progress slowly year on year and we’ll be in a good place.
That’s the scary thing we had fans who because they could relate to his defeatist north east mindset got deluded into thinking he was a loss when he leftI still think we should have brought Mowbray back for the play offs.
Me too!!I still think we should have brought Mowbray back for the play offs.
And most of the 1% post on here.99 percent of Sunderland fans would agree with this however there is 1 percent of our fanbase who are clueless unrealistic idiots
We've been in no danger of going down at any point this season.
This. 4 points off 6th place, what a disgrace.Le Bris out!
Other than Port vale its been an exceptional season.
Huddersfield wasnt great either, looking bsck was probably a missed opportunity, but survival was always the priority, been a fantastic season
Exactly. It's all relative and its still decent form.If our definition of a slump is 19 points from 17 games, I'll be happy.
