Safe Standing

Is it me or is the left side 2 rows further down than the middle, and then the middle is 2 rows further down than the right side.

They're standing about 4 rows back from where myself and everyone else around me used to stand and still will.. Guess its safer to stand there .

PS Maybe the stewards will be on a oh sit down oh sit down to all the unsafe standers, good luck wi that.

Good luck with hat mate!the club might be forced to enforce the rules as its a nonsense to have a designated safe standing area but allow people to stand in a juxtaposed seating area!Hopefully they will be more relaxed but if they want to inforce it they will and no billy big balls act will stop them ..you will be chucked out and banned and there is little you can do about it im sure they must have checked it out but from those photos it looks like the folk in the seating area ( couple of rows ) adjacent to the rail seating will have to stand to see parts of the pitch!I can see how you cn get away with standing at away matches but if clubs want to enforce the rules laid down in law they will ,lets hope they dont!

Thats always a fear with this lot at the moment ..fekking up the digitl stuff ..ive had my present seat for 20 years and even though ive paid for it there is always a worry they wll fek it up and sell it to someone else and you know they would just go "Oh sorry about that mistakes happen we can find you another seat" well no you cannot mate ! lets hope your moves ok
Shifted my seat there. Better not bash my head when sitting down and jumping up for a goal with a metal bar right above me bonce.
Has anybody actually tried the seats out in the rail section?from the photos it looks like you couldn't see much if seated because the rail in in your eyeline !.should just get rid of the seats ?I think in proper rail seating the seat is higher so you can see over the bar when seated?

Just revisiting by this one after the club saying in supporters meeting it is being considered for expansion in Sourh, south Wesr and South East.

For me it would make sense to do the upper blocks so I think it’s row 19 upwards.

I believe from the poll they did with those season ticket holders, it was very pro south stand a bit less south west and even more south east.

Expanding to south west along from where it is now seems an absolute no brainer.

Doing it all the way around upper blocks from row 19 upwards for both those ends more aggressive, then going all the way round to the south east the other (whilst I think that would be best for atmosphere it wasn’t over 50% for that end to change.

The issue they would have not doing south east which apparent has been raised by some supporters in that section is they now have limited visibility where sat right next to south stand standing.

A proviso the club did add is they might not be prepared to pay for it anyway like.

In case I missed it, do we take it that it hasn’t come up in season ticket renewal information that no additional safe standing is being added?

Makes no sense to me why you wouldn’t at least carry it round to south west corner where people already stand.

Probably too much safe standing in the South Stand based on the number that sit down there

Agreed, I thought they might have added it incrementally until there's safe standing throughout the ground apart from one solitary cushioned and heated seat that's painted gold.

That seat is reserved for Chris Maguire.

Safe standing

Ahead of the 2026-27 season, we will be extending and enhancing the safe standing provision across the Stadium of Light.

Following feedback from the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, alongside results from our 2024-25 supporter survey, we are introducing additional rail seating in areas where supporters regularly stand without safety rails.

These changes will further improve safety while supporting the incredible matchday atmosphere created by our fan

The article on safc.com has a link to show the additional blocks for next season. However it just takes you to ask SAFC. anyone know which blocks are being added?
