Dear Supporter



We are writing to inform you that approval has now been granted for the Club to introduce rail seating within your current Season Ticket area at the Stadium of Light ahead of the 2026/27 season.



We are, therefore, contacting affected supporters at the earliest opportunity following this approval.



The introduction of rail seating forms part of the Club’s continued work to enhance supporter safety, improve the matchday experience, and ensure that safe standing areas are managed in line with the relevant safety requirements and guidance.



Your allocated seat will remain in place and available to use. However, your area will be designated as a safe standing area, meaning supporters may stand for periods of the match in accordance with the relevant safety arrangements.



Safer standing areas are subject to specific ticketing terms and conditions - these can be viewed here.



We appreciate that Season Ticket renewal information has already been issued, and we recognise that some supporters may have questions or concerns about this change. Due to the current level of Season Ticket demand and limited availability elsewhere in the Stadium, we are unable to guarantee alternative seats in other areas. However, if you do have any specific questions about your seating arrangements, please contact the Ticket Office on 0371 911 1973 or by submitting a request via Ask SAFC.



We thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to enhance the safety and atmosphere of the Stadium of Light - and after yesterday’s result, it may also be time to dust off those passports!
 
Have they extended the area? I’m in U18 and wasn’t expecting safe standing where I am but got an email? Over the moon if true!!
 
Nice of them to send a email out today AFTER the seat moves have taken place AND after new season ticket holders have bought theirs 😂

So 0 seats left to move to for people with young kids / older people unable to stand for 90 minutes 😂 SAFC ticket office are the gift that keeps on giving 🤦‍♂️

When the season tickets were on sale it clearly showed the extended standing area around the south West corner

In the terms and conditions it did list U18 as being safe standing as well. We have the last 2 seats in U17 before it becomes U18 so happy anyway!
