SAFC Takeover Latest

If we want the best to come and play for us then the Training ground and everything that goes with it cannot be in Sunderland, we need to relocate it down South, that would entice great players to our club, combine that with world-class coaches, a Scouting network who actually know what to look for and a state of the art Academy to bring on youngsters and we could be on a winner.

Don't buy that at all. The AOL is hardly in the hood. If a player is too sensitive to a couple of degrees then they aren't going to fancy a cold night match in November.

If a player is too soft for Sunderland then good riddance. Don't chuck another 10 grand a week at him and beg him to come.

I was reading about this. They seemed to put 175m dollars in as part of some other blokes 1.2b investment as a loan at 14pc interest. Knowing that they wouldn't be able to pay it back that was then turned into shares so effectively bought a chunk of the club cheaply. It didn't say what their intentions were, other than buying some equity on the cheap.

Thanks for clarifying. So by all intentions it was a smart investment as opposed to being involved in building them up? Which would make sense as they bought them as part of the investment partnership and not in the manner they are buying us.

Not really sure. I struggle to see how they can make that much money.

Even as a decent premier League team I can't see us being worth more than £175m. If they are paying £40 or £50m and have to spend to get up then spend to get out of championship and then spend to stay and stabilise in premier League, it's not leaving much if you ask me.

I suppose if my figures are way off and it's 40 to 250m then it starts making more sense.

There is clearly a financial angle somewhere. They must be expecting a continued premier League expansion.

One of rr podcasts he was asked about the parachute payments, and to be honest he went around the houses with his answer?

Listen fella reiver has broad enough shoulders to cope!He got me banned from not 606 for simply asking questions, so yes i personally am a little peeved at his ability to control the narrative and the injustice of it fella and to use your words its a little tedious this blind support for reiver.

Why do folk think that it is right and and proper to tell another person what to post ,why cannot you leave people to their own opiniions?I have nothing against reiver personally but i have different opinions to his on some things and as long as i am not abusive i think a fans forum of any worth shoul allow me to voice those opinions.Press the ignore button, report the post if you think its abusive ,or alternatively post a reply without resorting to rude comments or abuse!
As soon as I read "listen" I switched off. I find that ill mannered.

Glad to see you’re all in favour of sweeping the board clean and hire great coaches. Our U11 to U16 youth teams regularly win national and international competitions. The coaches already in place are the reason top prem clubs do their shopping for 16 year olds at the AOL. Until we dropped to L1 and the U23 team were all promoted or let go our U18s and U23s were among the best teams in their league. The key for the new owners will be to retain talent from the age of 15/16. It’s not the coaches.

I think it is of the upmost importance that their intentions are presented with absolute clarity. No fan service, just concise of what their targets are and how they will achieve them.
Well firstly let’s hope the takeover happens and secondly what you hope materialises

They’ll do whatever it takes to get the club back into the PL in two seasons. Once back there, they’ll build something very special, recruiting the very best staff who’ll come, set up a world class scouting network and do whatever they can to make us sustainable yet winning things. They’ll spend a lot of cash, but they’ll make damn sure the club brings in a great deal of money as well. They’ll raise our profile by tirelessly and relentlessly spreading the word in every corner of the planet.

These lads aren’t going to settle for scraping mid table finishes and mediocrity, they’ll want us in Europe. They’ll want us playing magical football, gaining new fans and respect from all over the world. If they didn’t believe they could achieve this with SAFC, they wouldn’t be buying us, regardless of Netflix documentaries. They’re not mugs.

We’re gonna be in the very best hands imaginable. Bookmark this!
I’m not in any doubt whatsoever there will be great times ahead. I’m just on edge, praying for the announcement that the deal is completed. I think a lot of posters are underestimating just how far these lads are about to take us...
Well done class post agree with every word HTL

Proves nothing how good they are at those ages,6 members of my family including me all went down this path none made it.Only 1 per cent of kids at those ages make any kind of living from footy.I know weve parents of lads at acadamies on this board who will dream of stardom,it rarely happens.

Good point, I’m sure i heard the transparency word when Donald took over, but as others have mentioned where’s this parachute payment gone? What you’re saying is they don’t have to answer to anyone is that it?
They have answered the question ,but the answer being polite was not wrapped up in clarity paper and tied up with a comprehensive bow!we need paxo!

The problem is well known, they want to live in London, ask any team in the North and they all say the big players won't live in the North

I really haven’t a clue like most people here.

It will be fascinating to see what changes are made. I just wish they would get a move on and get it completed.
I think promotion will be at the for-front of any investors minds. Make it so...
