Surely if anything it is the best time for them being away, if everything is out in the open anyway

It was a bit tongue in cheek. Silly me.....why would we need them if the club is telling us everything out in the open, with complete clarity, leaving no unanswered questions.

Don’t be under any illusions, this is an investment with an expected long term return. I also suspect that they can see real estate opportunities in the surrounding area......

It wouldn’t surprise me if there are grants and incentives available.

They will have a plan, but with so many incredibly rich people involved, the risk is shared and therefore relatively low for people of their wealth.

It is basically a clean canvas with all the infrastructure in place.

Bout time we had a subss bench forum where newbies can argue amongst themselves to earn the right to come into the main board imo.
Too many wums and wankers and it’s going to get worse.
What and penalise the legitimate Sunderland fans also? Just because they are new to the forums doesn't mean to say they are all mags. I don't think that is the answer, you're throwing everyone in the same bracket. I'm sure there are mags on here who have reached striker status also but I don't think they should be banished either, everyone has a right to be on the forums whether we like it or not.

I'm not sure we'll be needing any more of his barmpot supposition if it were to be announced then.

“His barmpot supposition”? To whom are you referring? I hope it was neither GOM, nor Reiver who most would hold as 2 of the most respected and informative posters on this forum. Ok Reiver is banned at present but GOM’s “supposition”, he posts detailed financial analysis in layman’s language for all to understand and comment upon and maintains strict standards with regard to opinionated based posts.

Firstly, fuck off, again.

The reason is incredibly wealthy people are often egotists. When you have that much money what do you do. Apparently they looked at a lot of clubs and probably thought we were value and have bottomed out. There could be any number of reasons but yanks especially love a bit of history and sentimentality. After all they have none. Like it or not, historically Sunderland are still a massive club. Show me s football club with our history you could buy for as little as they will have?

6th most successful club in England in terms of being Champions, great infrastructure in place, fanbase that has stuck around despite years and years and years of massive underachievement, Netflix, Sunderland sounds like it has “dell” in it, red n white stripes, seaside and somehow, somehow they have managed to overlook that we haven’t got an airport

Who owns your club mate?
A billionaire who wants to make a return on his investment. He's already said his end goal is TV rights in the Premier League, but that he won't risk overspending to get there. He's also not putting money into the local community, just building up the club in the way he wants.

Eh? More and more the ownership of clubs in the top two divisions has gone to internationally successful businessmen from around the world - your post is rather nonsensical mate.

I'm not saying all of the foreign investment has been a triumph, but the point stands!
True, but how many of them dont want a quick return on their money, and how many invested into the community? If the Dells' wanted to make a return on their investment, which is only really possible in the Premier League, there are plenty of clubs higher up the food chain they could have gone for.

Bolton and Blackpool, who I'm sure they could have bought if they've been looking for more than a month and would arguably have been even better stories. And, if they're looking to splash the cash, they could probably have bought one of the top Premier League clubs and pocketed the TV money for a few years instead of building from the ground up.

And, to be clear, I'm not saying the stories are wrong - as pointed out above, Eisner has done similar with Portsmouth, however it doesn't make sense on any fundamental business level for them to regenerate the area along with being custodians of the club.

Learn summit new every day.

Have we???

People will then have a load of questions about the details of the deal. And if there's a press conference with the announcement, all kinds of interpretation about what their plans may or not be. Completion's likely to raise as many questions, if not more, because we'll then be dealing with something concrete, rather than trying to find out/work out what's going on.

I smell either journo or mag. First game who against? And what score?. What stand in roker park did you stand in? best game and best game you've ever seen the lads play in?
Just have a look at his/her history, they clearly aren't a mag or journalist (well they could be i guess), just someone who got something wrong, like the majority of us have.

Feel sorry for the poster being attacked in such way from too many posters on here for nowt really.
