Why’s our squad so bloated and full of average players he’s paid good money or wages for? He didn’t need money. He needed a good strategy. His was to use Coton’s contacts and bring in players who have been promoted before. It was a shit idea. He then capped it by splurging on Grigg despite the advice of his football experts when we needed more creativity. The best budget in league one, two seasons running and we have the fifth least creative team in the league. For all the great stuff on the business and fan engagement side, the football side has been a complete mess.

They are either Mags/Wums/if SAFC fans they are thick in the heed craving the attention tht social media brings.

Every real person Sunderland fan I have spoken to thinks Mr Donald and Mr Methven have done a fantastic job to get us to the brink of a very bright future.

I don't necessarily think it was a shit idea, just simplistic beyond belief and certainly not aligned with any mid to long term strategy.

Think he wanted to be promoted first season and sell. With that in mind, it's not the worst plan to just buy loads of players who have been promoted before. As you well know, the devil is in the details and he has shown no grounding on how to build a football club.

I agree regarding Hill, and Coton but he is an insurance salesman not a footballer. He trusted those 2 to do that job and they are beyond useless.

Was me mate but GOM seems to have more up to date info than what I've had. Was told a week or two ago that the initial delays were down to how to structure the holding company and got an update earlier this week they'd been resolved but the actual handover to FPP wouldnt be til next week at earliest. Some of the stuff he told me matched up with a few things. GOM has had an update since then.

Honestly don't know what fans expected, from his first interview on Roker Rapport he laid it on the line. Said what needed doing and also said they didn't have the finances to take us where we need to be. Would step aside if someone could do it. Can't say fairer than that

If we’d actually finished 6th I’d maybe agree, but we didn’t come anywhere near a sixth place points total under Bruce.

He has some good points there unlike his manager who has 4 sitting in the bottom 3 of the elite league they keep believing they will win.

All about context and he has been economical with the truth in many cases.

The finances were in reference to having a go at the top half of the premiership. We had money, he blew it on Grigg, not very smart. We also have 20 odd million that will be put back in as and when we need it apparently, sitting in another company bank account.

The chap has done a lot of good, but far from it all being that way.
