He's selling the club to a group including the 25th richest bloke on Earth. That alone keeps it from being a "disaster", forget the fact that he gave the manager the biggest transfer fund in the history of the division.

Aye because of Netflix.

The budget thing, he signed Will Grigg basically

The rest of the squad isn't good enough

Theres no football structure at the club, there is no plan.
In footballing terms i agree !the club in business terms is treading water!going nowhere and just surviving !cut to the bone in all areas .......however if he has manages to sell us on to the delltastics i for one will forget his failure to perform ............I must adnit though if this deal does go through i am a tad concerned if donald is the right person to perform in the big boys playground given his cv and obvious penny pinching ways!

Agreed yep.

I could be wrong, but I thought part of financial fair play is about investing on the infastructure?
wiki
Only a club's outgoings in transfers, employee benefits (including wages), amortisation of transfers, finance costs and dividends will be counted over income from gate receipts, TV revenue, advertising, merchandising, disposal of tangible fixed assets, finance, sales of players and prize money. Any money spent on infrastructure, training facilities or youth development will not be included.

Really cant get my head round all this stick for donald, when he came in the club as a whole was catastrophically unsustainable with more people employed than the mags as an example, yet little over a year later the club is close to breaking even, he appointed a manager who was known for having his teams score goals for fun, he immediately started to reconnect the club and the fans again and since then has looked to expand the fan base around the world. He provided his staff with the biggest budget in this leagues history, even without grigg there were still decent fees paid for the likes of o’nien in terms of league one fees. Granted there were several frees signed however i think most have already proven themselves to be up it. I personally believe this squad that was assembled is more than capable of getting promoted if they play consistently at levels which theyve shown in some games to be capable of. Donald has taken a club that was on its knees and turned it around to a point where these very rich individuals feel they want to invest their money into it, and they still feel donald is the man they want running the show. Granted there is still things he has got wrong but he’ll be the first to admit to them but on the whole i feel like hes doing a very good job to me

Well said. About what he had to deal off the field when he took over.

He has had the best of intentions however there has to be serious questions asked about the long term thinking regarding the footballing side. Short termist recruitment and the academy isn't in great shape.

I agree like, I don't really get what good intentions or being canny has to do with anything. Put me in charge of scouting, I'd have good intentions, wouldn't mean I wasn't absolutely shite and unqualified for my job.

Extreme example but its how the football side has been ran, we don't have one really. Its why I don\t see much point in changing Ross as it stands, hopefully things change after takeover.

This line is such nonsense like.

He sold maja, panicked and over paid by 3 million on Will Grigg

Its a nice line that people use but its irrelevant

The recruitment and investment, in the team and in the football and scouting system has been minimal bar that panic buy, we have skeleton staff, and he seems happy enough to be a league one club.

I don't see what his plan was?

Why is Richard Hill making any football decisions at SAFC, makes no sense to me

Sorry but he isn't doing a good job, he may be a nice guy and have good intentions, but he doesn't know football, and we are desperate for the new owners to bring their own chief executive and football men in

We need that more than any money for transfers or anything

Disagree regarding Ross. A better manager would make up for some of the failings of recruitment. We could, imo, become better organised with some good coaching

Yeah possibly, I've not over though that as no idea who we could realisticlly get, just more making the point that I believe there are bigger issues than Ross personally. I dont think there is any structure, I mean if we'd gone up last year, we nearly did, what was the plan from Donald/Hill/Coton? I just don't see one meself.

The whole playing side needs looking at. Recruitment is awful. Academy sides are pretty poor. 1st team keep repeating mistakes and there is very little improvement of players or performances.

The academy is very worrying, some of the results all across the age group are mad, absolute hammerings.

Yeah I agree with all of that, I just want to see some plan or cohesion football wise across the club, its not about signing players or out, although recruitment is terrible

If I knew they had a plan then I'd be happy to see it out.
