SAFC Takeover Latest

I think many decent, well-intentioned posters have had similar thoughts over the last few weeks. I'm not entirely sure why some think it appropriate to act in such reprehensible ways. They seem to have forgotten The Golden Rule, if they ever knew it. As a consequence, everyone loses out. One of many ironies is that the very people who tend to sling calumnies around like confetti when challenging the opinions of others, are the very same who tend to make ludicrous, unsupported statements disguised as "evidence" to prop up their own fragile assertions.

It's obvious there's a load of posters on here who are jealous as fuck of reivier and the remarkable life he's lead and still leads through the work he's done

We all know who they are and it's pretty sad that they can get so worked up about a bloke who they don't know yet are still green eyed about him
Doubt it's jealousy, I'd bet people are just so used to seeing bullshitters on here, like that mad Bob, for instance.

Longhorn knew stuff at one point though because he was proven. Same with others

All comes down to working out who you can trust, not jealousy

This is Reiver's final contribution to this, and possibly any other, thread.

Reiver has asked me to thank all the decent people who appreciate the information and post this message.

"Now that there's a 'conclusion' it's a good time to stop posting. The other information about the 'kick in the teeth', new owners' plans, the future of Ross and the replacements being considered will come out in time without my contribution. It's a shame that some posters can be vindictive and bitter without any good reason. The only common denominator seems to be a less than enthusiastic outlook on Sunderland. We have a bright future to look forward to and it's time for everyone to draw a line on the past. Haway the lads!"

For what it's worth, I can't disagree with a word of that. In the course of this and other threads, I've had my honesty, integrity and professional competence questioned. Like Reiver, I'm questioning the point of sharing anything at all because of the grief that comes with it.

Well said GOM. I post seldom on here these days, time being a constant enemy . But I look a little more than I post and have noticed some of the rather bizarre responses to yourself and Reiver on the matter of potential new ownership.

Maybe you were both (along with a couple of others) wrong all along. Maybe you were hoodwinked in an elaborate wind up. Maybe we will be bought out by a dodgy second hand washing machine dealer from Benwell.

Maybe not anarl mind! But,whatever the near future brings there is no conceivable reason this side of sanity that anyone could imagine as to why you both would make all this stuff up. None. The idea is utterly absurd, and so I am left to assume that the more hostile voices you mention are in some way aggrieved that you have been unable to give concrete evidence of any deal right now, this instant. Bairns must have their toys and all that.

Carry on please GOM, you are extremely good value and one of the reasons it is worth coming on here. And tell the Count Of Monte Cristo on your visits to his virtual dungeon to do the same!

I honestly find it f***ing staggering that there is a certain percentage of our fans who seem not excited by this takeover and are struggling to see how this will change our entire football club.

Honestly if you cannot get excited about now having the 2nd wealthiest owners in world football you need to jack it in and find another hobby.

There is a very good reason the Mags are f***ing spewing. They know this changes everything long term
It's not that I can't get excited I just want the team winning games 1st and foremost. Everything else is probably above my head at the moment and I really haven't got time to digest it all. Fingers/toes and everything else crossed that is the time our clubs greatness is to be revived once and for all, just wish me dad was here to see it.

Tbf, Reiver had more than a bit of criticism.
 no he didn’t. He got off pretty lightly really. When you put your neck on the line and say something like the takeover will be done this week and then it doesn’t happen you have to expect a bit of come back.
