You heard they bringing their own man or not?No idea to be honest but with sponsorship etc it should be fine. We don’t need to spend stupid money yet, we need to keep that for the long term.
Again I think I’d disagree. XG models (good ones) describe something numerically that fans often feel but can’t objectively express. The issue for Ross and Safc at the moment is that we are a poor xG team. Fans can sense that, read it and describe it back as ‘not getting after teams’. XG allows you to see that in dispassionate, reproducible data.I did say a good scout, which, fair enough, might be harder to find. The stats are good, but they don’t tell the whole picture. xG is a prime example. Aye, it’s more useful than traditional stats, but it’s limited in what it can actually tell you. Watching in person gives you the context that something like xG wouldn’t.
Is that something you can potentially corroborate on GOM or are you not at liberty to say? If not, a good old12pm BST coincides with prime time in the US (7pm EST).
Steward Donald following Michael Dell on Twitter now![]()
way past me bloody bedtime12pm BST coincides with prime time in the US (7pm EST).
This is Reiver's final contribution to this, and possibly any other, thread.
Reiver has asked me to thank all the decent people who appreciate the information and post this message.
"Now that there's a 'conclusion' it's a good time to stop posting. The other information about the 'kick in the teeth', new owners' plans, the future of Ross and the replacements being considered will come out in time without my contribution. It's a shame that some posters can be vindictive and bitter without any good reason. The only common denominator seems to be a less than enthusiastic outlook on Sunderland. We have a bright future to look forward to and it's time for everyone to draw a line on the past. Haway the lads!"
For what it's worth, I can't disagree with a word of that. In the course of this and other threads, I've had my honesty, integrity and professional competence questioned. Like Reiver, I'm questioning the point of sharing anything at all because of the grief that comes with it.

Ha usually agree with everything you say ,but not this im afraid .I argued daily with kildare mackem over grigg told him that get couldnt have watched him or if he had then cataracts need removing. He was signed blind on stats alone,id watched him loads as cousin moved nearby to wigan.I was pissed off when we signed him .Disagree. The stats tell you stuff that an eye test doesn’t. And the true level of quality of scouts is pretty poor. Generally local club pros and owld geezers who wander about in club shop tat talking about what football used to be like. You can’t get everything out of stats. There’s still personality stuff and the like. But I would never trust the word of some old **** called Clive over a dispassionate record of what a player has actually done.
And following Nathan GunnHe has done for a while now. Someone pointed it out on the locked thread![]()

Are you sure Grumps, 12pm must coincide with 7am in the US, as they are behind us. Do you not mean 12am (Midnight) here.12pm BST coincides with prime time in the US (7pm EST).
Someone mentioned it earlier today aswellHeard a very random rumour something is happening at midnight tonight regarding takeover. Seemed a bit of a strange time and didn't really ask much, as was a conversation between 2 people and didn't want to but in. Probably shite like, but plenty of that on here so another bit won't hurt.
Tony Davison is managing director iirc. It’s separate role to chairman so he shouldn’t be affected, unless the new owners have someone else in mind for the job. Given what he did at spurs I don’t think he’s got anything to worry about.I wonder if he becomes CEO, or Executive Chairman what happens to Tony Davison role? Both can’t do the same type of job?
Would be a massive shame that such a cracking thread signalled the end of Reiver, GOM and Shaun61. 3 good posters that the board need. Don't leave us with all the numpties who will never change, and will always try to derail decent conversations, just to keep up their internet personas. This is Reiver's final contribution to this, and possibly any other, thread.

He was signed on reputation and goals marra. I’m talking about how his chance conversion is, how much work he does pressing defenders, what positions he shoots from, how many touches in the box he takes, what quality of chances does he create for others. This is where Ross goes wrong. He talks about goals scored and goals conceded but doesn’t think the next layer down. How were the goals created? What attributes or factors could help or hinder those goals. I reckon your Grigg example strengthens my argument rather than diminishing it.Ha usually agree with everything you say ,but not this im afraid .I argued daily with kildare mackem over grigg told him that get couldnt have watched him or if he had then cataracts need removing. He was signed blind on stats alone,id watched him loads as cousin moved nearby to wigan.I was pissed off when we signed him .
