I agree. But I think we need to understand the difference between a large long-term cash-rich injection of funds over a period of time in a large city ie. Manchester or London and doing the exact same with a city the size of Sunderland. Demographically, we are similar to Reading, Preston, Newport and Swansea. Growth, sustainability and long-term investment tend to come with a reduced level of risk. The new owners are specialists in this area of financial investment.Newcastle are sustainable, we want to be ambitious. At the same time, we don’t want to be chucking money around - because well, we can’t because of the inevitable FFP regulations.
Basically, let’s hope the new owners aren’t complete tight arses whilst also not being gung ho
