SAFC Takeover Latest

It hasn’t stopped the redneck wannabe wanker being bitter over us. Sitting in his denim dungarees, drinking moonshine and frothing at the goatee beard about our takeover

Also saying the game is dead to him due to money taking over in favour of watching franchised sports with no promotion/relegation where top earners dwarf even the earnings of Messi etc. The average NFL player earns 22 million dollars per year, for example.

"A very good tale!" said he. "The best I have heard for a long while. If all beggars could tell such a good one, they might find me kinder. You may be making it all up, of course, but you deserve a supper for the story all the same. Let's have something to eat!"

Your a day late mate, it was talk like a pirate day yesterday:lol:

Amazing how SAFC are on verge on becoming 2nd richest club in world football and now @geordiedean has decided to give up on football. A coincidence I'm sure.
I swear one of them said to me last week "im not bothered about football anymore" funny that cos the same twat was right into it when we lost the checkatrade final and again when we missed out on promotion... theyve had this coming the smelly kernts

Will be epic meltdown on Tinyside when this is announced. The tide is about to turn and they won't like it one little bit.

I really hope im wrong but this takeover milarky might turm out to be a damp squibb! The sustainability comment by ross has put a right dampner on it for me..i was hoping for a push for promotion this season then a concerted effort to source and buy six or seven top end championship players for a push for promotion at the first go!I fear a don type stewardship of living within our means(yes i know its sensible)but i was hoping for a cash injection from the owners to kick start the club !I was hoping for a legacy project and not another addition to their portfolio!I hope someone has not beem feeding reiver dogshit!

It's the opposite for me. Keeping Sunderland suatainable is exactly what I want from any new owner. I want us to grow and become a long-term addition to the top-flight and be among those teams who make a fist-of-it most seasons. I want us to be around for years at the top of the game. I've been reading comments on here all day about 'build this' and 'build that' around the stadium, but it's bollocks. People will only come to the stadium and the surrounding area when there's something that people want to be part of. We can build a hotel when we have 48,000 people at home matches and we'll only have that if we can get back to the Premier League with a team playing some kind of attractive football.

Newcastle are sustainable, we want to be ambitious. At the same time, we don’t want to be chucking money around - because well, we can’t because of the inevitable FFP regulations.

Basically, let’s hope the new owners aren’t complete tight arses whilst also not being gung ho

Theres plenty of good and bad examples of how to run a football club out there, lets hope our new overlords get it right 1st time .

Kick in the teeth ....

If I spelled things out, and named names, this post/thread would be deleted. Hopefully I've written it in a way that only the 'terminally dim/wilfully argumentative' can misinterpret. There won't be any follow up posts and you'll either get/believe it or not.
I was going to leave this until the right man, at the club, leaked it as he's promised to do when the time is right. However, if I do that, people will claim my previous vague posts were wild guesses. If I'm guessing I say so, if I'm passing on gossip/rumour I say so, if I post as fact I say so, like the fact that the takeover deal was definitely done weeks ago but that not even the current/new owners know the date of the announcement ... even now.

Some people mix up opinion, rumour, guesswork and fact .... usually deliberately.

So here it is and I'll bet the story comes out 'officially' after the takeover is announced.
The 'Dell boys' have been looking, for some time, to buy an English club to develop and leave a legacy for years to come. They looked at Newcastle, some time ago as is well known. Apparently that progressed a fair way before the asking price didn't budge due to Ashley's intransigence and belief that the club was worth it. No doubt they cast their eyes over a variety of clubs but were ready to buy Newcastle for a better price if Ashley would compromise. Move on a while and the boys are back in town looking for action. They go back to a club they've previously looked at as it's available and making no progress. Negotiations progress and become serious up to the point whereby a very good offer is put firmly on the table. 'Knowing smiles and nods are exchanged' and it seems a deal can be done. The seller's greed, however, pushes him into a 'clever ruse' and a rival bidder appears from nowhere, reported by some absolute random. Surely those free spending Dell boys will race back to rescue the deal and up their offer!!!

Errr well no actually, they decide to put their billions into a more long term but friendlier, more honest, project and reward those people they saw crying on Netflix. The Red Bull rumours may well have also had an effect and alerted Dell. The other club, who must remain nameless, are left exactly where they were and with no plausible way out. Mysteriously their 'buyer' vanishes and is never seen again, almost as if he was never there. The random reporter slinked away as well and it's not known how much, and by whom, he was paid ... but, of course, this is all fantastical nonsense, this is big business and no one would try to pull a stunt that stupid would they?

God bless Mike Ashley

I went last year but in a van from santander, rather than walking!

I went from Santander last year but in a van, not walking!
Some commercial stuff around the cathedral but the town and the whole route topper... Canna get a drink, especially in Galicia, without them throwing bait at ya ~ chicken legs, bits of pie and such 😁👍
Also just went to the ticket office in Vigo for the Celta/Barca game! Class songs and that 😁⚽
Fuck would you need a van to gan to the bank for like?

Cheers mate. Loek Ursem was signed by Durban on loan from a Dutch club and played something like a game and a half at the back end of 81 82 season. I remember laughing like many others when we got him. Of all the great Holland players. Typical of us
I was only about 12/13 mate I don’t remember him at all. I did enjoy the Knighton and Durban years though.

These takeover threads are making everyone a bit stir crazy

People asking other people ‘have you not heard of Reiver?!’ as if he was as famous as The Queen.

Probably not a good simile given his ban

@geordiedean

Who gives a f*** really after 40 years of being a football fanatic the game is f***ing dead to me now. Every year im losing more interest in it, every year i watch less live games and Match of the day less.
Being here in the US and having wall to wall US sports at this time of the year NCAA,NFL,NHL,MLB,NBA,MLS its making me lean a lot more to them
Childish as fuck. .. "don't like football anyway, so there, ha!"
