Safc fans turning on each other

Aye I was on that flight. I remember a stunning French stewardess on the flight down. Didnt see her on return flight like. Monarch Airlines I think. It also nearly kicked off in the 'restaurant' booked for our meal between Exeter airport and Plymouth. Hardly any drink at the bar and nee one had a key to cellar!!
Aye, definitely Monarch airlines.
Don't remember the French stewardess, but I do remember the scrum at the bar as we all rushed to get a drink, and I was one of the first served.
Also remember the sparsity of drink too.
Enjoyed the experience of flying to a match with the team, even if things did turn a little sour on the flight back to Ponteland.
Dennis Smith was the Sunderland manager at that time.

Saw two blokes arguing over Kevin Phillips once. Sat one in front of the other. One saying he cant see what all the fuss was about. Escalated into each calling the other a mag, then saw them physically fighting outside the ground afterwards.

Very rarely seen it but for some reason it was rife at the semi final against Millwall in 2004. Loads of Stone Island and burberry caps and in that shithole Man Utd bar near the ground people singing songs wishing Bobby Robson dead. Like I said in the hundreds of other games I've been to I've rarely seen this but that day seemed to be loads of scuffles between our own fans most likely a combination of it being close for a big game, a very warm April day , the opposition and the fact we were utter dogshit and missed out on Europe against a very poor side Tim Cahill aside.

My first away game as a bairn, Port Vale 1997. Got beat 3-0 (?) and was a fight in row in front of me and my Dad.

Dont remember many of the details but my Dad told me never to tell my Mam, as she wouldnt let me go to an away game again

I remember a Mr Blobby braying fuck out of someone on the stairs that day!

It was a bit hostile on that pre-season tour in Belgium towards the end of Reidy's reign, someone hoyed a pint in his face at half time at Antwerp I think then the next game in Ghent the atmosphere was a bit poisonous towards Kilbane when he flicked the V's at us, as well as Reidy. Then there was a nutter from Hebburn managed to climb the razor spike fence at the front and ran across the pitch to the dugouts to hurl abuse at Reid. Back in the away stand there was definite rumblings of Reid in and Reid out with supporters arguing like fuck with each other the rest of the match and then carried on arguing in the bars afterwards.
Hello J hope you and Lynn are well.
I was on that tour of Belgium and Holland and remember Reidy getting swilled and Kilbane giving the fans the V's
Hostile atmosphere as you say, and as much as I liked Reidy and enjoyed watching some great attacking football during his time here, he ultimately stayed here too long.

I remember our last away game in our previous season in the 3rd tier, when at Rotherham I think two people in fancy dress had a battle in the seats near to where we were sat.
Batman knocked Superman out cold (or vice versa) and the loser was taken away on a stretcher for medical treatment.
If only the film makers had come up with a script for two superpowers to slug it out, it could have been a box office winner, instead of the new Avengers movie

would that have been North Stand rows 29 and 30

We were sat right at the front on way down. She was immense. Was great being back in my l9cal at about 8.30pm with the plastic mags taking the piss out of me for not going to Plymouth. Til I shut them up by showing my plane ticket and programme. £99 if I remember (not including match).

Aye £99, and it was certainly a better option than going on a long train journey.
I wish I could remember her.
We were sat in the middle of the plane.

Long time ago and I've moved seats a few times since, but if I recall correctly then yeah it will have been around that area. I was row 32 I think back then so very likely. I remember 1 of them showing his safc badge tattoo to prove he wasnt a mag

I was on the same row 6 or 7 seats along from it. The lad on row 30 was dragged over the top of row 29 and landed partialy into row 28. It was about nowt

Ridiculous argument because someone didn't rate Phillips. What adult would have a fight because someone said he didn't think someone was very good

We've taken huge numbers away and the Sunderland supporters have been highly praised.

Comments from wankers like you are irrelevant tbh.

Not sure what I've said to make you overreact with personal comments like that , don't you get irony or tongue in cheek , I know we've been highly praised and been part of it on many occasions, what I don't get is the overreaction to tarring all the Pompey lot with the same brush by a lot on that thread, when it's clear that there is also posts that convey the same fans in a good light

Yes, of course 'tongue in cheek' is always totally obvious from total strangers on a forum

People have been at pains to differentiate between the many decent Portsmouth supporters and their sizeable hooligan content.

Far from tarring the entire support with the same brush.

You ignore that for your own personal agenda which destroys your argument ....

... whatever that may be.

£99 programme? You don’t half talk some shite mind!

So when a stranger posts a comment you immediately abuse them because they aren't a regular poster ?

Plenty posters were also at pains to tar them all with the same brush...you must be ignoring that

I have no agenda whatsoever or an argument for that matter

West brom away under dicanio, lad had a massive breakdown and started cheering the west brom goals singing we want another. He got dragged out by his mates after a few punches.

I was there in this very incident & there was no punches thrown. Unless it happened in a different place too at same game. Lad was cheering WBA on to get another sarcastically and they only went and scored:lol::lol:.

Some baldy jumped afew rows reckoned it was our fault the goal went in

Cardiff away under Mick McCarthy, lost 4-0, Bjorklund got sent off, Some SAFC spoiled the minutes silence for John Charles then it all kicked off about scabs in 1984...... Was the first (and last) away game I took our lass to

Aye that wasn’t a clever move by our lot re the minutes silence.
They were all over the road outside afterwards.
