SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

or indeed anyone with the required number of points. branch membership shouldn't come into it.
that's one thing that's needed for me, there should be something whereby away tickets can be handed back and put on sale, even at late notice. for all those not able to go i'd bet there are the same who would love to go even at the drop of a hat.
This is the thing for me as the clubs want it all ways

Happy to sell you a ticket, yet can’t go and no way do they take it back and offer a refund and they don’t provide another sales option….tough shit lads get on with it.

Buy one can can’t go and sell it on at face value or sometimes less (as no other options other than losing out) and they are on it like a ton of bricks, removing tickets and banning people.

Just needs a bit more of a reasonable and pragmatic approach

There some shit been put on here mind .the branches have supported this club for years .so how can a branch stop people passing the ticket on to somebody else if they are sick or can't travel or have to work .what or the branch members meant to do .u can't contact the club to get money back .how many under 16 go to match without adults .you should only be able to buy a child with an adult .so it's OK for people in corporate to pass tickets on to people who haven't got the required points..those 60 people should have been called in to the club and at least been given a chance to represent themselves themselves .wait till we get relagated and the branches have gone .the club will get all they deserve
Spot-on mate. Mind, you get some puritanical folk on here who are sticklers for the rules. We’re still riding the crest of a wave but, as history has shown us, we’ll end-up a bit shit again at some point and these people will be needed.

Most young un’s had to start that way. When I first started going away it was many years before the loyalty points system but, if a young un wants to start going, they’ve needed a bit of a leg up, in recent times.

If a young un started going last season or before I'm sure they could have got tickets for most away matches.

I started when loyalty points system was there and managed to get tickets, obviously would miss out on some matches but would have no complaints with tickets going to those with more loyalty points.

managed to get one in my basket which i was hoping for a mate, but he's not able to go so about to drop it out my basket.

here's the link for the map to bypass the sold out

But even then they may have been passed on a ticket from a relative or someone for certain games. It wasn’t an issue then.

I hate modern football

I started on about with me son in the league 1 promotion season.
Got 80+ now. I missed out on some smaller allocations in the championship first season but had access to every single first phase for 2 full seasons at least. People could’ve built 30+ from zero in the last 2 championship seasons alone on general sale. But Cardiff and Bristol are a long way to go when the seasons pretty much decided though!

First game of last season at Cardiff didn't even sell out!

I had 70-80 until my daughter started playing football on a Saturday morning, 6 years ago. They sharp went and that’s fair enough as I don’t deserve one these days.
Only missed one Mags away game since 1989 so it’s a new experience to watch in on the telly.

But how does passing on tickets give them a leg up?

The person who buys the ticket keeps the point and can pick and choose what aways they go to and the young person is forever in a cycle of needing tickets off someone else?

So yes the youngster gets to experience aways but entirely at the discretion of whether or not someone doesn't fancy it.

We are now at the stage where promotion back to the big time and a feel good factor around the club and the city is increasing demand for away games tenfold. As others have stated, we didn't have any of these issues when we were shite. Nobody was arsed about Doncaster away on a Wednesday night or Accrington away 3 days after a visit to Wembley. People need to be very very careful about what they wish for. Genuine fans are now getting tickets cancelled because of the moaning that's started this season and rightly or wrongly in this case the club have gone with a heavy handed approach. We could end up with completely watered down away ends because the young lads / lasses who can get a ticket last minute off a pal and be right up for it no longer have that option.
The fella has been doing this for years. Getting away tickets for his group on his group's ST. Maybe 10 didn't want to goto an away , so some exile mates in his group got them. So they all were together at matches. In the prem , those without the points or a ST to obtain an away ticket were fans he knew were regular away day goers in league one.
In league one the club used to get in touch with him to offer him extra tickets. The got in touch with him for him to see if he could help an Aussie fan over who was in the news. The club used him to help with away tickets.
He sorted out cheap trains for his group.

The prem league has now changed things. It's not acceptable and it's been dealt with.

This group - large amounts of them will be out of pocket as he sorted a vastly subsidised travel system. Many won't go to the aways, or as many.
When we are shite again, as we no doubt will be, and not selling out , which was a regular thing and will be again, these fans won't be there to bail the club out and support them when the new premier league fans have fucked off.

He has helped 100s of genuine fans over the years and shouldn't be villified. The games changed and he didn't change with it. But those he helped were all long term fans. All here in league one.

For the ones that don’t go to general sale, I meant.
I took the little ‘un to loads in League One and she didn’t always have the points so I received help from friends for her. There’s suddenly outrage about this because we are playing Liverpool not Accrington.

Find it very frustrating that I have not missed a home match in well over a year now travelling from Belfast, booking flights and hotels etc, and I have no chance in going to this game
I also find it a little frustrating that I travel the country following the lads and have done for over 30 years and I'll likely never get treatment that those attending international fans day get on a yearly basis. Getting to see the academy. Getting to go on the pitch before a game etc.

As for away tickets of course those travelling away every week should get priority.

Although that is a great commitment from yourself it does have to be said.

We are on high 50s now and should be in a decent position next year after the usual 3rd yr deductions.

Only missed out on Bournemouth and Brentford this season but knew they would be tight due to smaller allocations.

We’ve done a fair few games over the years but not quite up there with the bigger loyalty points holders, partly due to my stance of not taking a ticket for a game unless I’d used our own loyalty points.

plenty of chances for people to be in a much better position points wise

I don’t think anyone who can’t go as regularly as once before doesn’t deserve a ticket. It’s just people who aren’t going now haven’t legitimately gone for 4 seasons or they’d have enough points. It’s not a closed shop, it’s a shop people decided not to shop in but now it’s trendy fancy it again.

I think we’re genuinely in desperate need of some midweek and Monday night aways next season down south, less 3pm Saturday kick offs etc. to keep this place from being so toxic.

Let’s give those with lower points a chance to get to games if they’re so up for it.

I personally think we’re going to really struggle in the league next year, and we’re going to see the demand for aways fall hopefully - so we can see these threads stop every single week.

This season was literally once in a lifetime with how we suddenly out of nowhere were incredible, first year back in the PL after so long so so many new grounds - the likes of Man U and Chelsea 3pm Saturday, and the lack of aways on weeknights, Sundays etc. Even the midweek ones we did have were Anfield and tiny Brentford. And Bournemouth (also tiny) early kick off on Sunday,

Cup games being Everton, new stadium, and Port Vale and Oxford (tiny allocations).

When we are struggling like fuck next season it’ll be easier to get away tickets.

....and those whinging now about those people going now, didn't give a flying fuck they were at Fleetwood or Accrington.
